Augsburg, central market in front of City hall
Jews lived in the MIddle Ages close to the city hall and we will tour this area.
Kriegshaber wasn't a part of the city of Augsburg. While Jews were not allowed to live in Augsburg, they settled outside in country communities. This synagogue is an example of a house synagogue in the countryside. Nearby the in Kreigshaber established Jewish families had houses and busineses.
The Jewish Museum Augsburg-Schwaben depicts the history of Jews living in Augsburg. It is part of the synagogue complex, that was build in 1914 till 1916. It was not destroyed during cristal night (9.11.1938). It has a great copula roof and it shows how rich, important and self ashured this congregation was.
