Join me in Nairobi for an authentic culinary journey right in my own home.

We’ll begin with a guided visit to a local market to handpick fresh ingredients. Then, back in my kitchen, we’ll cook and taste Kenyan favorites such as sukuma wiki, managu, mokimo, and githeri stew. After preparing the meals together, we’ll sit down to enjoy them while I share stories about Kenyan culture, traditions, and the meaning behind each recipe.

10:00 AM

Meeting Point

Pick-up at your hotel in Nairobi

10:30 AM

Local market

At the local market, we’ll explore the stalls together, where you’ll see fresh vegetables, grains, and traditional greens like sukuma and managu. I’ll introduce you to the spices and ingredients commonly used in Kenyan cooking, and you’ll have a chance to interact with local vendors, ask questions, and even help choose the items we’ll cook with later.

11:00 AM

Cooking Session

After the market, we’ll move to the kitchen where you’ll take part in preparing a traditional Kenyan meal. Together, we’ll wash, chop, and cook the ingredients we picked, while I guide you step by step through the recipes. You’ll learn how to make staple dishes such as sukuma wiki, managu, mokimo, and githeri stew — from boiling and mashing to seasoning and simmering. This hands-on session will give you the chance to cook like a Kenyan, ask questions about cooking techniques, and experience the warmth of Kenyan hospitality. At the end, we’ll sit down to enjoy the meal we’ve prepared together.

Ending Point

I’ll drop you back at your hotel in Nairobi, marking the end of our tour.
