Meeting Point

Hansung University Station (Line 4), Exit 4

- Please meet me outside Exit 4 of Hansung University Station (Seoul Subway Line 4). From here, we’ll walk a few minutes to Hyehwamun Gate and begin our journey along the historic Seoul City Wall toward Naksan.

Seoul City Wall & Naksan

Walk along the historic Seoul City Wall as we make our way up Naksan.

Along the route, I’ll share how the wall protected the Joseon capital of Hanyang and how Seoul grew beyond its old boundaries.

The climb is gentle, with several viewpoints where we can stop for photos and enjoy panoramic views of the city.

Naksan Park & Seoul Viewpoint

Reach the top of Naksan and take a short break to enjoy wide views over central Seoul.

From here, you can see how the old city wall, traditional neighborhoods, and modern skyline fit together. It’s also one of the best photo stops on the tour before we continue downhill toward Ihwa Village.

Ihwa Village

Walk through Ihwa Village, a hillside neighborhood known for its colorful streets, small cafés, and creative local atmosphere.

Along the way, I’ll share how this residential area changed through urban regeneration and why it became one of Seoul’s most distinctive neighborhoods.

Please remember that people still live here, so we’ll explore respectfully and keep noise to a minimum.

Heunginjimun Gate (Dongdaemun, East gate)

Descend from Naksan to Heunginjimun, one of the historic gates of Seoul’s old city wall.

Here, I’ll explain how the gate connected the walled capital of Hanyang with roads leading east and how this area later developed into one of Seoul’s busiest commercial districts.

Cheonggyecheon Stream

Follow Cheonggyecheon Stream as we leave the old city gate behind and walk toward Gwangjang Market.

Along the way, I’ll share how this historic stream was once covered by roads and later restored as one of Seoul’s best-known urban regeneration projects, connecting the city’s past with modern Seoul.

Gwangjang Market

Finish the tour at Gwangjang Market, one of Seoul’s most famous traditional markets.

I’ll introduce you to the market’s food culture and show you one of the local restaurants I personally visit and recommend.

You can then choose to stay for lunch, try some classic Korean dishes, or continue exploring the market on your own.

* “Easy Peasy” means this is not a strenuous mountain hike, but the route still includes uphill sections, stairs, slopes, and some uneven paths.

* This is a 4-hour walking tour, so comfortable walking shoes are strongly recommended.

* The tour is not recommended for guests with serious knee, ankle, back, or mobility problems.

* This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

* Please bring water, especially during the warmer months.

* The itinerary and walking pace may be adjusted depending on weather, trail conditions, crowds, and the group’s pace.

* In case of heavy rain, snow, icy conditions, or other unsafe weather, parts of the route may be changed for safety.

* Ihwa Village is a residential neighborhood, so guests are kindly asked to keep noise to a minimum and respect local residents.

* Food and drinks at Gwangjang Market are not included in the tour price and can be purchased directly from vendors or restaurants.

* At Gwangjang Market, I will also show you one of the local restaurants I personally visit and recommend.

Hi! I'm Rossi, a licensed English-speaking tour guide in Korea.

For me, guiding is not simply about showing you famous places. I want you to understand the stories behind what you see — why a palace was built this way, how history shaped modern Korea, why certain foods became part of everyday life, and how Koreans actually live today.

History is one of my biggest interests, especially Korea's royal history and the stories behind its palaces and traditional neighborhoods. But my tours are not history lectures. I also love exploring local markets, trying good food, discovering interesting cafés, wandering through hidden streets, and experiencing the small details of everyday Korean life that you might otherwise pass by.

I'm also a big café lover! Korea has an amazing café culture, and I enjoy discovering everything from small neighborhood cafés to unique and beautifully designed spaces. If you love coffee and cafés too, we'll definitely have something to talk about.

I started guiding international travelers in 2019, and over the years I've learned that no two guests are the same. Some want to dive deep into history, some want great food, cafés, photography or local experiences, and others simply want to enjoy Korea at a comfortable pace. That's why I prefer to adapt the day around the people I'm traveling with rather than follow the same script every time.

I offer both walking and driving experiences, from exploring Seoul's palaces and neighborhoods to discovering places beyond the city, including the DMZ and other destinations around Korea.
