The wonderful experience of seeing the place where the monarch butterfly migrates, coming from Canada to these forests where they spend the winter and then returning to Canada, thousands of kilometers.
It requires being willing to climb the hill very slowly on horseback, with the help of a cowboy who pulls slowly. It takes 1 hour to climb and 1 hour to return. This is the only way to access the area. At the top, walk 10 minutes to a place where there should be no noise.

DAY 1. From México City to Angangueo Michoacan, hotel included
A four-hour drive on the highway and finally a local road. Arrival at the hotel, Rancho Cumbre Monarca. Breakfast and departure to El Rosario Sanctuary (10 minutes from the entrance). Riding the hill through the natural forest among thousands of butterflies. To get there, a horseback ride pulled by a cowboy is required. The hike is very complicated, with jumps and slow jerks, but impossible for those with back problems. The hike is difficult, with more than one hour of climbing and the same amount of descending. The road is very slippery and uneven.
DAY 2: El Rosario Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary
Reach El Rosario sanctuary again, same route as yesterday. Check out of the ranch, If you like: visit Angangueo, the magical town, and Tlalpujahuac. Return to Mexico City. 4 hours on the highway.

*This tour involves a lot of walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. This tour is not recommended for those with severe back/knee problems.
* Please let me know in advance if you have any food allergies or other dietary restrictions.

*If you have back problems, the horse ride involves a lot of jumping and pulling.
