Arrival at Xochimilco Lake
Board a traditional Trajinera, the local boats for cruising the lake.
Axolote seeing
We will arrive at a conservation island in order to appreciate the endemic animal species Axolotl. A salamander related species which has great secrets to be revealed while walking along the island's conservation area. We will also see some other animal species along this walking tour.
Afterwards we will board the boat again to continue cruising the channels and navigate back to the harbour.
Xochimilco harbour
Time to walk through a traditional market to see local handicrafts, fabrics, pottery, etc.

“A Wonderful Day at Teotihuacan with an Exceptional Guide”
We had a wonderful day exploring the ruins at Teotihuacan with Rafael. His depth of knowledge was impressive, and he really brought the history to life. We learned so much. We had the best day with Rafael in Mexico City. He picked us up from an airport hotel and truly introduced us to Mexico City on our first day. He was so friendly and knowledgeable about everything - from history, to food, to architecture and more. He was also super patient and let us practice our Spanish. :) We visited the Xochimilco canals and an axolotl sanctuary which was one of the highlights of our trip. Rafael answered all of our questions with enthusiasm and made the trip engaging from start to finish. We were most fortunate to engage Rafael for three days while in Mexico City. He curated a most extra-ordinary experience that immersed us in the long and complex arc of Mexican history covering pre-Columbian empires, Spanish colonialism and the modern tumult since independence. He was highly knowledgeable about details but wrapped the information in digestible bites that were both impactful and memorable with just the right touch of humor. He was flexible and responsive, adjusting aspects as we went along based on interests and energy levels. He also provided us with some 'out of the usual lanes' experiences that included the culinary.
