Meeting Point
Hotel Pickup
- Because of the early departure, complimentary pickup is available from accommodations located within approximately 6–7 blocks of Oaxaca City's main square (Zócalo). If you're staying outside this area, we'll arrange a convenient meeting point in advance to ensure a smooth start to your coastal adventure.
Comfort Stop
We'll make a brief stop so you can stretch your legs, use the restrooms, and pick up a light snack such as yogurt, fruit, or something else to keep you energized until breakfast. It's a great chance to refresh before we continue our scenic drive through the mountains toward Oaxaca's beautiful Pacific Coast.
Breakfast
We'll stop at a local restaurant to enjoy a well-deserved breakfast before beginning our beach day. Choose from traditional Mexican favorites or classic American-style options, accompanied by freshly brewed coffee or another beverage. Take this opportunity to relax, use the restrooms, and fuel up before spending the rest of the day enjoying Oaxaca's beautiful Pacific Coast.
Beach Time at Carrizalillo or Coral
We'll arrive at either Carrizalillo or Coral Beach and settle in for a relaxing day by the Pacific. We'll find a table under a palapa, and if available, you may rent a lounge chair. Swim in the warm waters, unwind, read a book, or simply enjoy the ocean while I keep an eye on your belongings—you're here to relax, not worry. As the day unfolds, enjoy fresh seafood or your favorite beach snacks. If we visit Carrizalillo Beach, please note that it is an eco-friendly beach with simple communal restrooms, so it's best to begin the journey already wearing your swimsuit.
On to Zicatela
After a refreshing day at the beach, we'll take time to change into dry clothes before heading to the famous Zicatela strip. Enjoy the scenic drive as we make our way to Puerto Escondido's vibrant beachfront, where surfers, cafés, boutiques, and the Pacific Ocean create one of Oaxaca's most iconic coastal atmospheres.
Sunset Stroll at Zicatela
Arrive at the famous Zicatela strip and enjoy free time to experience one of Mexico's most iconic surfing destinations. Walk barefoot along the endless beach, feel the ocean breeze, and watch the powerful waves that have made Zicatela world-renowned among surfers. Treat yourself to a refreshing nieve, an iced drink, or your favorite snack, then sit back and take in the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean as the day slowly comes to an end.
Journey Back to Oaxaca
As the sun begins to set, we'll board our vehicle and begin the approximately three-hour drive back to Oaxaca City. This is the perfect time to relax, take a nap, or simply enjoy the changing scenery as we leave the Pacific Coast behind. A comfort stop will be made along the way so you can stretch your legs, use the restrooms, or pick up a drink or snack before the final stretch of the journey.
Ending Point
We'll arrive back at your hotel or the original meeting point in downtown Oaxaca

About Tour Guide Julio C.
I'm Julio, a federally certified bilingual tour guide born and raised in Oaxaca. After more than a decade in education, where I advanced from English teacher to school principal, I chose to dedicate my career to sharing the culture, landscapes, and traditions of my home state.
I create private experiences that go beyond the typical tourist itinerary. My tours connect travelers with local artisans, family-run workshops, traditional mezcal producers, and communities that continue to preserve centuries-old Zapotec traditions. I believe travel should benefit both visitors and the people who welcome them, which is why responsible tourism, fair trade, and genuine cultural exchange are at the heart of every experience.
Whether we're hiking to panoramic viewpoints, learning ancient pottery techniques, exploring colorful markets, or sharing stories over a traditional meal, my goal is to help guests experience the authentic Oaxaca that most visitors never see.
