Nagarkot View Tower
Nagarkot is a village situated 38 km east from the capital Kathmandu valley. This popular hill station is 1800m above sea level. This is the nearest hill station to Kathmandu which offers remarkable sunrise views. If you are lucky and if the weather is perfect, you might view the Himalayan range to the north of this village, which includes the Langtang, Ganesh Himal and Annapurna range. This tour also provides an overview of the authentic village culture and lifestyle around this valley. The tour begins with about one and half hour of early morning drive from your hotel to Nagarkot. The cold breeze greets you upon reaching the hilltop of Nagarkot. You can view the breathtaking sunrise view and spectacular view of snow-capped mountains. After breakfast,ake at the moment to observe such beautiful natural phenomena before descending to Changunarayan.
Hiking to Changunarayan
With such a beautiful mountain view, the trail is filled with a forest of pines, terraced farms of local villagers and a typical small village. The nature walk is fresh and refreshing, with a beautiful atmosphere around you. You will hike peacefully within the womb of nature till you find yourself in the small villages of Brahmin, Newars and Tamang community. You will then gradually cross the path taking on the graveled road and local trail to Changunarayan.
Changunarayan Temple
The temple of Changunarayan is one of the oldest temples that date back to the Licchavi period of the history of Nepal. The temple is made up of beautiful stone and wood carvings. It is designed in a traditional Nepali style that can be described as neither a Shikhara style nor a Pagoda style. On reaching the Changunarayan temple at the hilltop, you will see yourself surrounded by Champak trees. You will see the temple is surrounded by statues of Lord Vishnu along with other deities inside the courtyard of the main temple.
