Donna is wonderful! She was there on time to pick us up at our Port Terminal. She came prepared with many great ideas for the day, but we also loved that she really listened to what we wanted to see and do. She learned our names and personalities quickly in order to make the experience personal. She made us feel like VIP's from the start. She choose an excellent vehicle for 5 people, we were very comfortable and also appreciated the complimentary waters she brought. Inbetween places she gave us a history lesson about the country and we asked questions and learned alot. Be careful with choosing Donna though she makes all the other tour guides look bad, we kept comparing everyone to her the rest of the trip! We would book her again in a heart beat or just hang out with her if we were back in Taipei!

Tomoko San has been amazing! She took care of all our requests and was absolutely thoughtful in terms of our needs! Not to mention about how she was extremely patient with my 7 years old boy who doesn't stop talking and asking his 10,001 questions! Truly engaging and knowledgeable. My boy misses her! I would definitely recommend her as your guide to the land of the rising sun! Thank you very much, Tomoko! Cheers, Jane
Thank you so much for your review, Jane! I really enjoyed the tour to Hakone with you although I missed the cable-car(ropeway) ride due to the strong wind. Glad that you had the chance and the great view of Mt. Fuji the next day. I enjoyed the collaborative arrangement process with you as you had made great research in advance and what you wanted for you and your family was very clear. Timmy is so sweet and inquisitive, and I wish I could have replied to more of his 10,001 genuine questions:) I miss your little Ninja! Looking forward to seeing you again in the near future! Cheers for all! - Tomoko

It’s hard to put into words but it was exactly what I was looking for. We had lunch at what I could only describe as a Japanese diner. We stopped at a fruit store and had persimmon, cut and sliced for us by the owner. We had drip over coffee prepared with a kind smile by a wonderful person. And met a man who is the 11th generation chopstick craftsman in a small shop down a street you would never find on your own. These are just a few highlights. From start to finish, from point to point, we casually darted in and out of alleys and side streets avoiding the tourists path, seeing things you would not otherwise see. Off the beaten path and so well scripted, like a story with Akira as the narrator. Sure we passed through some touristy areas but it felt more like a brief moment between what was really special, like taking the train, just a pause on the actual tour. Not only was Akira knowledgeable, finding these places was what he enjoyed and you could tell. He shared with me not only the special places he had found along the way but the great people as well. A side of Japan that, thanks to Akira, I will never forget. I will forever be grateful. Thank you Akira.
Dear Daniel, Thank you so much for the great review. I am so happy to know that the tour was what exactly what you are looking for. And I would like to thank you so much for describing what my tour is like which I often have had hard times do so. I take my clients to many places. Some of them are popular tourists sites, which I think is okay and I personally go many of them time to time, and some of them are not touristy, more local neighborhoods. No matter where I take my clients to, I am always wishing that the tour gives a sense of what it is like to be a local and with discovery and fun. One of the precious moment for me as a guide is when such wish come true, what I am feeling from your review. I try to show this capital city I know and things you hear from me will be filtered by me, local that living in this city for almost 40 years. I am so happy to see that it worked for you to understand my country, my city, and my people. It is always my joy to guide thoughtful, honest, and kind people like you. Thank you so much for having me as your guide and thank you so much for letting me be as a part of your memorable Japan trip. I am looking forward to another chance to explore my loving city together. Sincerely, Akira
