Thanks to my French husband, who is also a guide, I have learned a great deal about the points foreign tourists could contemplate the marvels of Japanese culture and developed my storytelling skills. I like to show my guests everything, with special focus on small details not written in guidebooks, and like to utilize anecdotes to help others understand Japanese culture. In addition to my guiding services, I can also provide concierge services such as booking high-quality restaurants, special shows or activities, tea ceremonies, etc. +++As a calligraphy teacher+++ I consider that calligraphy is not about writing with the complex Japanese "kanji" alphabet. Calligraphy is an art form which enables you to express your thoughts and relax your mood through your brush strokes and writing style. My workshops are a tailor-made experience. I also offer lessons for small children and provide an interactive experience for them. Best of all, workshops can be arranged to fit your schedule! The streets, temples, shrines, gardens, arts and crafts, and traditions here have been part of my life since childhood, and sharing them with visitors is something I truly love. My father designs traditional Sukiya-style architecture, Japanese gardens, and tea rooms, and is also a passionate collector of antiques from Japan and Korea. Through his work, I developed a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and beauty found throughout Japanese culture. My mother is a professional cook, and I grew up watching my parents warmly welcome guests into our home, preparing matcha and meals while creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. From them, I learned the spirit of Japanese hospitality Omotenashi. I began learning English at an international school in elementary school, which allowed me to communicate with people from many different countries from a young age. Over time, I realized how much I enjoy helping people discover the deeper meaning behind the places we visit. Kyoto is a city where every temple, shrine, garden, and small street has a story. While many visitors are drawn to its beauty, understanding the history and traditions behind these places makes the experience even more meaningful. I love sharing these stories and introducing hidden local spots that many visitors might otherwise miss. My goal is to help you experience Kyoto with all five senses and enjoy the culture and traditions that make this city so special. I offer 3 types of tours: bicycle tours, scooter/motorbike – 125cc tours (solo guest only), and SAKE drinking tours, and I love doing them because I love riding my bicycle, driving my scooter, and walking around this amazing city (Japan’s capital from 794-1868; sometimes called The 1000-Year Capital). I love exploring and discovering more about this amazing city, and I'd love to do this together with you. I'll take you down narrow alleys, riverside paths, show you some popular sights (and some hidden gems), and we'll learn and discover about Kyoto together as I am still learning about Kyoto (e.g., its shrines, temples, and history) myself.
