Osaka is known as the “city of kuidaore,” where food is central to life. Takoyaki, kushikatsu, cheesecake, and the famous 551 pork buns are just a few of the local favorites I’d like you to try. The city is also called the “city of water,” with neon lights reflecting beautifully on the Dotonbori River. From the new Grand Green complex, you can enjoy modern views of the Umeda Sky Building, a symbol of Osaka’s mix of tradition and innovation. Osaka is also the ideal base for exploring Kansai. In one day, you can visit Kyoto’s temples, Nara’s deer, Kobe’s harbor, or Shiga’s lakeside scenery.
