“Amazingly perfect, fulfilling experience”

An absolute perfect tour, we saw all 4 temples, Michiko was incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to both the areas/temples/customs as well as explaining all those things to us in English as we knew almost no Japanese ourselves. All the while making us feel welcome and learning who we are as well as what we find interesting ourselves which she was happy to change or adjust our itinerary to what we would enjoy most or hand crafting entirely new stops or locations if we were interested in shopping or resturants with a guide. Michiko is incredibly personable and was so immensely dedicated to making sure we were having a good time and having our needs met. Simply a amazing expericene I would wish everyone had the chance to enjoy with a perfect person.

“A wonderful day with an insightful, friend who brought the history and Kyoto and Japan to life.”

We had a wonderful day visiting some of the sights of Kyoto with Akira. The itinerary and his knowledge beautifully explained the history of Kyoto and Japan, from the move of the capital from Nara through to the present day. He brought history to life with great passion, we couldn’t have had a better time. Akira’s passion and knowledge are unquestioned, but his ability to tie the narrative together across sites, linking each to build out the history was the stand out for us and our 12 year old son, who managed to spend a day away from devices and actually learn! A win for all!! We can’t speak highly enough of our experience with Akira.

“Good Times”

Our Kyoto adventure was amazing! The bamboo forest was hands-down our favorite — calming and magical. Since we’re not big on photos, we had extra time and Kanae made a stop at a local shopping district. We browsed shops, sampled sake, and even tried pickles on a stick — such a fun detour. The car service made everything seamless, and Kanae was incredibly accommodating. It felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a local friend. Highly recommend!
