About Tour Guide Kevin L.

I received a license in 2016 from the Korea Tourism Organization as a qualified professional tour guide. I have guided a variety of tours for people and tourists from all over the world and have been doing so for over 6 years.

Before being a tour guide I spent most of my career working in the banking industry for almost 30 years, starting with Korea First Bank which later became a US based Newbridge Capital and UK based Standard Chartered Bank until I retired in 2016.

My experience in the banking industry was very much customer-first and dealing with the public which laid the cornerstone and passion to becoming a tour guide.

After retiring from the bank, I worked as a lecturer for a volunteering organization run by the local public office and taught students about the environment and disabilities.

With various experiences and personal management skills, these challenges have provided a real life, hands on cultural nuances which will promote friendship and expand life experiences between different cultures.

I'm based in Seoul but will be happily arrange the tours to Busan, Gyeongju, Sokcho, Jeonju etc. as a customized tour. Feel free to drop me a request message.

Another charm of Seoul is it is surrounded by beautiful mountains, providing excellent accessibility for hiking. Lastly, enjoying pajeon(green onion pancake) and makgeolli(Rice wine) as a post-hiking tradition among Koreans helps alleviate the fatigue from the mountain excursion.

Wonderful exploration of Korea's historical past with Kevin

I had a wonderful full day tour exploring Korea's historical past with Kevin. We visited Yonsei University, Hongdae shopping street, two Kpop sites, and two Catholic martr yrdom sites. I am impressed by his wealth of knowledge about Korean history and he has the ability to explain the subject in a way that it is understandable for everyone. I'll certainly learned a lot from his tour and will definitely use his service again in future.

Amazing half day tour with Kevin in Seoul

Had an anazing half day tour with Kevin to explore few Kpop sites, Itaewon and Bongeunsa temple in Gangnam. I was impressed by Kevin's flexibility in accommodating my request and he has a wealth of knowledge on the Korean tourist sites. Overall, I was very happy by his tour and gained a better understanding/appreciation on both Korean culture and history. I look forward to do more tours with him next time I'm in Korea.

And, more about myself, I was born and raised in Seoul. Before becoming a tour guide, I had been working in Petrochemical Industry for major Korean conglomerates for quite a long timeframe. And, for developing overseas business projects of the enterprises. I resided in Indonesia and Vietnam as an expatriate for about 9 years. Working in an international business environment and in a big organization gave me chances to broaden my views of the world and better understand diverse perspectives, cultures, religion, economics and politics as well. And, as I like reading books, my understanding about Korean history and human beings have been deepened with time. You will see real Korea with the unviased vision through the eyes of real Korean. Multiple days tour is also recommended. I can organise it reflectimg your tastes! Come and enjoy with me!
