About Tour Guide Mana F.
Hi my name is Mana. I'm a National Licensed Tour Guide in English. I was born and raised in Kyoto. I worked for the Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters after I graduated from university.
I know lots about Kyoto's cultures and festivals . After I got married, I have been in Shiga for over 30 years. I work for at high school as a part time teacher. I am flexible in Kyoto and Shiga. I am practicing ”Rakugo”a traditional Japanese comedic storytelling art, to make my tours more enjoyable and filled with laughter. Let’s laugh together during my tours! The fun, hand-drawn illustrations I use on my tours are also very popular—most of my guests take photos of them.

Dear Jose, Thank you very much for your wonderful review, even though Kyoto’s unique hot and humid weather meant we could not finish the tour to the end. Kyoto, known as the thousand-year capital, has inherited many traditional and unique cultural customs. Bamboo is considered a symbol of long life in Japan. Next time, I hope you can visit Japan — the country of longevity — during a more comfortable season. I wish you both good health and happiness for many years to come. Thank you Mana

“Learning Deep Rich Kyoto History with Mana”
Mana was a great tour guide. She led us to all the places we wanted to visit and even taught us some Japanese along the way. She was very knowledgeable about all the places we went to and explained all the history behind the landmarks we faced. She does walk pretty fast for a senior haha so it was a little hard to keep up, but she was always accommodating to us when it came to breaks when we asked. Anyone wanting to learn the real about Kyoto, I highly recommend Mana.

Dear Andre Thank you very much for sending me your review. It was a very hot and humid day, and some people were not feeling well, so it was quite challenging, but I’m very glad that I was able to guide both of you until the end of the tour. Has everyone recovered since then? I sincerely hope that all of you will stay healthy and continue enjoying wonderful trips together in the future! Even when you’re young, you shouldn’t be overconfident about your health! haha Thank you Mana

Dear Anton Thank you very much for your wonderful review. Kyoto is called the thousand-year capital, and because it suffered relatively little damage from wars and natural disasters, many historical buildings still remain here today. There are also countless fascinating legends and stories connected to them. The people of Kyoto take great pride in preserving and passing these traditions on to future generations. I would be very happy if you could visit Kyoto again and again in the future. We will always be here to welcome you. Thank you Mana

Michiko N.
Hello, and thank you for visiting my page! I’m Michiko, a local guide who was born and raised in Kyoto. I love meeting people from around the world, sharing the spirit of Japanese hospitality, and creating fun experiences together! I once went to the UK to watch and learn musicals, and more recently, I spent a year living in Thailand. These experiences deepened my love for art, culture, and people. Besides guiding, I also work in theater and performance art, creating unique performances in shop windows. One of the reasons I started working as a guide was to help fund my artistic projects. Let’s explore Kyoto together and discover its heart — the beauty, the people, and the stories that make it special. With BIG LOVE! Michiko

Hello! I am Kanae, a nationally licensed guide. While working full-time as a lecturer at a local university in Kyoto, I have also been guiding for two years. Born and raised in Kyoto, I am excited to share the beauty and culture of my hometown with my customers. Kyoto is an enchanting city, and even as a local, I am continually fascinated by its many charming spots. Whether it's the serene temples, vibrant markets, or hidden gems, there is always something new to explore and appreciate in this wonderful city. Also, since my home is close to Shiga Prefecture, I am very familiar with the area. While Shiga may not be as popular as Kyoto, it offers a wealth of attractions for tourists. From historical sites such as temples and shrines to the stunning natural beauty of Lake Biwa, the largest lake in Japan, there is much to see and do. I am passionate about promoting Shiga and sharing its unique charm with visitors.
