Hello, my name is Mana. I am a National Licensed Tour Guide in English. I was born and raised in Kyoto. I worked for the Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters after I graduated from university.
I know lots about Kyoto's cultures and festivals . I am good at walking. After I got married, I have been in Shiga for over 30 years. I work for at high school as a part time teacher. I am flexible in Kyoto and Shiga. I am practicing ”Rakugo”a traditional Japanese comedic storytelling art, to make my tours more enjoyable and filled with laughter. Charming must -see in north west area of Kyoto city
This tour covers 4 must-see sightseeing spot . Firstly, we visit the golden pavilion. We go to Arashiyama. We walk through Tenryuji garden and bamboo forest. In the afternoon, we'll visit Nijo castle. (We enjoy watching a live demonstration of Japanese sweet making with green tea(Mattcha).Finally you can learn about Kyoto’s traditional and wonderful kimono

“She deserves 6 Stars! ”
We had a wonderful and pleasant time with Mana. She is very knowledgeable about Kyoto area. Her background as a teacher came in very handy as she presented us with learning cards about numbers and some konji Japanese writing. A beautiful touch. She even hiked with us to the “Monkey Mountain” which is not super easy. At the end of the day she took extra time to take us to shopping area near Shinkoyogu. Having her as a guide we got twice as much done as we would have done by ourselves, and never would have learnt about many facts she shared with us. I wish I could give her 6 stars.

Dear Ali Thank you so much for leaving such a wonderful and high-scoring review right away! Six stars! I’m truly delighted. Since I’m a former police officer, climbing Monkey Mountain was no problem for me. Back in the police academy, I used to train by climbing Mt. Inari (at Fushimi Inari Shrine) every day! I’m a bit concerned that I may have walked too quickly and tired out your wife. Please come back to Japan again and again, just like your son's "Phoenix”, and take your time to enjoy a leisurely trip together as a couple. Mana

“Great half day tour!”
We enjoyed visiting Uji and Fushimi Inari with Mana. She was a great guide with a nice sense of humor - she had creative ways of explaining things with her own colorful drawings. The kids learnt the Japanese numbers with her funny pictures that they could relate to. :) Uji and the Byodoin temple was our favorite and we enjoyed the matcha ice cream that she recommended. Fushimi Inari was striking with great fall colors! Thank you Mana!
