About Tour Guide Mana F.

Hello, my name is Mana. I am a National Licensed Tour Guide in English. I was born and raised in Kyoto. I worked for the Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters after I graduated from university.

I know lots about Kyoto's cultures and festivals . After I got married, I have been in Shiga for over 30 years. I work for at high school as a part time teacher. I am flexible in Kyoto and Shiga. I am practicing ”Rakugo”a traditional Japanese comedic storytelling art, to make my tours more enjoyable and filled with laughter. Let’s laugh together during my tours! The fun, hand-drawn illustrations I use on my tours are also very popular—most of my guests take photos of them.

A passionate and attentive guide going over our expectation

Mana-san showed us much more than we expected over a 6-hour tour! She shared with us historical facts, childhood memories of a local and lots of quirky jokes to keep the trip engaging. Moreover, she was attentive and always gave the best and most cost-saving advises for souvenirs. Highly recommended!

Dear Mia, Thank you so much for sending such a lovely review. You were actually my first guests from your country, and since you’re about the same age as my sons—small in stature and very charming—our conversation felt especially fresh and delightful. I hope you’ll continue to share not only traditional culture but also Japanese subculture with the world. Mana

Two Days in Kyoto

We had the incredible privilege of spending two days in Kyoto with Mana as our guide, and it truly made our trip unforgettable. Mana is everything you could hope for in a guide—exceptionally knowledgeable, warm, thoughtful, and deeply passionate about her city. She brought Kyoto’s history, culture, and traditions to life in a way that was engaging, accessible, and deeply enriching. Beyond her professionalism, Mana is simply a joy to be around—kind, and genuinely caring. By the end of our time together, it felt like we were saying goodbye to a friend. If you're visiting Kyoto, do yourself a favor and book time with Mana. You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation of the city and memories that last a lifetime. Thank you again for two wonderful days Mana!

Dear Ralph I was truly delighted that you entrusted me with the Kyoto tour for your beloved parents and that you gave such a high-rated review. I'm relieved to hear that they returned safely to your home country after their long journey. Although it unfortunately rained on the second day, they enjoyed interacting with people around them while using various forms of public transportation. Their genuine interest in history and culture, as well as their willingness to actively engage and try new things, made the tour a valuable learning experience for me as well. Two days are simply not enough to fully experience Kyoto. I sincerely hope all of you will come back to Kyoto again and again! Thank you Mana
