About Tour Guide Nahomi O.
Hello! I’m a local guide based in the Miura Peninsula, a beautiful coastal area just south of Tokyo. I’ve been living here for nearly 10 years, surrounded by the sea, fields, and a peaceful way of life.
The Miura Peninsula has many unique towns. Kamakura is an old capital where Japan’s first samurai government began. Yokosuka has long been a base for the Japanese Navy, and today it is a special mix of American and Japanese naval cultures. Misaki & Jogashima (Miura City) is a quiet fishing and farming town, very different from busy Tokyo. Hayama is a beautiful town with a summer house of the Japanese Imperial Family.
Through my tours, I want to show not only the famous places but also everyday life in Japan—especially how people live in small towns outside the big city. I hope you can feel the calm, kindness, and beauty of local life.
I’d love to show you the slower, more local side of Japan.
Let’s explore together!

“Enlightening Experience in Kamakura”
We had a wonderful small-group tour with Nahomi, who was friendly, outgoing, and highly knowledgeable. As a local guide, she has a deep understanding of Kamakura and expertly tailored our itinerary to include meaningful historical sites, as well as great spots for shopping. Given how much there is to see in Kamakura, she focused on historically significant temples like Engaku-ji and Kencho-ji, while steering us away from the main tourist crowds. The result felt like a private tour, with many moments where we had the sites almost entirely to ourselves. It truly felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“A wonderful Kamakura tour”
I booked a day trip with Nahomi to visit Kamakura. With full cherry blossom in front of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, it was so beautiful. I will remember this place for a long time. Being a local person, Nahomi is very knowledgeable with this area. She is very nice and did everything she could to adjust her plan and tour arrangement to accommodate schedule and situation. Many thanks, Nahomi.

Thank you for joining my tour this time! You are such a thoughtful person, and I really enjoyed exploring Kamakura with you. Everything felt perfect—the clear morning after the rain, the cherry blossoms in full bloom, the ideal temperature, and Kamakura in the early hours before the crowds. It was the best combination of conditions, and it made me very happy for you. I hope we can meet again someday!

I’m so excited to have a chance to show you around my favorite spots in Kanagawa prefecture. I was born in Kanagawa. I spent my whole school life, including university, here in Kanagawa. I worked as a high school English teacher here for more than 40 years. I love Kanagawa so much. We have many interesting tourist spots, like Hakone, Kamakura, Enoshima and Yokohama. I got my tour guide license in English in 2009. I am still an English teacher. To give an interesting and impressive lesson to young high school students, I’ve learnt and gathered many kinds of information. I also have a license to teach social studies, so I have a wide range of knowledge about Japanese culture and history. I’m sure to provide you an interesting tour.

Shin N.
Welcome to Japan! I'm Shin. I have been an English Guide in Japan more than10 years. I can guide Tokyo, Kanagawa and almost all metropolitan sightseeing and walking spots. I was born in Kobe, grown up in Osaka, and studied in Kyoto, so not only Tokyo but I also have a good knowledge of Japanese historical cities. I love talking about Japanese food & culture, walking quiet narrow streets, drinking tasty Japanese whisky, Sumo, Rugby & Sports, and Japanese mountains. I climbed Mt. Fuji 18 times with foreign guests. We enjoyed the auspicious moments of sunrising from the summit. I would like to support you to make your stay in Japan memorable and precious one. It is grateful if you refer to my proposed tour schedule, in the case you have your own interests, I am happy to tailor the tour schedule responding your requests. Please feel free to contact me. I look forward to sharing wonderful time in Japan with you. Be my guest!

Ayami M.
