Walk one of World Heritage Kumano-Kodo trails "Choishi-michi" which is nearest to Osaka and Kyoto. It is an antient access way to Koyasan fonded by the great monk Kukai. The Fukuchiyama Abandoned Railway Hike is one of the hiking course that uses the abandoned railway line between Namase Station and Takedao Station on former Japan National Railways Fukuchiyama Line, was closed in 1986. Stretching for about 4.7km along the valley, the remains of the railway including 6 tunnels and 3 bridges from when locomotive once ran remain intact. The trail is easy enough for even beginners to hike and can be completed in about 2-3 hours at an average walking pace.

“The best way to experience Osaka!”
I can’t say enough good things about Aya. She made the tour feel less like a formal activity and more like exploring the City with a knowledgeable friend. Their passion for the area really showed, and they went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt included and engaged. This was one of the most memorable parts of my trip and I learned so much! “Travelling like a local with a local”
We had a truly memorable day with Nikki in Osaka. We were all feeling a little ‘Temple/Shrine’ fatigued.. so Nikki filled our day with fun, local experiences. (Although insisted we visit Sumiyoshi Shrine.. and so glad she did). A great local lunch, riding trolley car and really ‘feeling’ Ōsaka. Nikki was flexible, went absolutely above and beyond (even tracking down a lost iPad left on the bullet train). Just couldn’t recommend Nikki more highly.. and her lovely sense of humour ensured she was great company.

“Donton Sake pairing with Hawk”
We really enjoyed the Sake pairing with Hawk! He’s awesome and it was liking hanging with an old friend. This was definitely one of the highlights of our day in Osaka!
