For those who truly want to EXPERIENCE Tanzanian life and culture in a short amount of time, this three day full-board really packs a punch like no other!
At your hotel/Airport
Welcome to my city! I will personally meet you at your choice of location in Dar es Salam. Expect a warm welcome and the biggest smile in Dar (self-declared, but I think I’m a prime contender for the accolade).
This day is all about orienteering yourself in this glorious African metropolis. The focus will be on Swahili and shopping – we’ll start the day by introducing you to the beautifully phonic and melodic language of Kiswahili. This isn’t just guidebook Swahili, we’ll cut straight to the words and greetings most commonly use, focussing on how to order food and buy goods. Then, once you’re confident with some key phrases, we’ll head out to the most bustling market area in Dar: Kariakoo market. Here you’re going to knock the socks off the stallholders by conversing with them in perfect Swahili – I dare you! Don’t worry, I’ll be right by your side throughout.
Expect laughter, amusement, and music as we fill up your toolkit with introductory Swahili. Have a wish-list of must-see locations in Dar? I’ll do my best to squeeze them in before we head out of the bustle of town into the vast and breath-taking landscape of Mikumi National Park. This is your sneak preview of where we’ll spend the entire second day!
Its about tranfer you to mikumi which is away from the city like 7 hours due to speed limit on the way but good road.
It won't be boring due to a long drive, you'll have me☺, I'll be giving you insider knowledge of our language custorms and beliefs all the way .
We will stop by the villages along the road buying local fruits and stretching.
Wake after a refreshing night’s sleep (if you could contain your excitement) at the family run Camp Bastian – a safari camp fully committed to investing back into the community. Enjoy a breakfast of locally grown produce we’ll head out bright and early to the fourth biggest national park in the country. In your private vehicle you’ll be able to head wherever you please, seeking out buffalo, giraffes, elephants, lions, pythons, zebras, leopards, and crocodiles.
Ok course you’ll learn the Swahili words for these animals too, and throughout the day I’ll share with you my local knowledge about the flora and fauna, conservation efforts, culture and traditions, and if – you’re lucky – a rendition of my best Lionel Richie karaoke skills!
After the game drive around 1pm, will get out of the park and drive to my hometown Morogoro town for accommodation and night walking.
This is what most official tours don’t show you: today we make our way back to the city through my hometown of Morogoro. Here it will be my privilege to show you the real Tanzanian way of life, as I’ve enjoyed it since childhood. We’ll meet real locals. You’ll leave today with not just selfies, but skills to take home. Want to know how to cook ugali?
How to dance to Afrobeats? How to eat food with just your right hand? Encounter the people and communities that will stay in your heart long after you’ve returned home
