Day 01 : Pick up in Korogwe (or Dar es salaam)

Shelukindo, a tour guide will pick you at the hotel in Korogwe or in Dar es salaam its depends where you want to be picked,

Meet at your hotel and have a short brief about the safari and then get into a waiting safari jeep and start driving to Saadani via Mandera road and gate.


09:00 AM

Day 01 : Saadani Entrance gate,

You will arrive at the park gate and get registered, have your permit with you and get into the park, from there you will proceed driving slowly with enroute game drive, searching for animals hearing some interesting stories and information about Saadani National park while heading to Saadani Safari lodge for Lunch.

12:30 PM

Day 01 : Arrival at Saadani Safari Lodge for Lunch

You will arrive at Saadani Safari Lodge around 1200hrs, you will check in to your room, relax for few minutes before heading to the lodge restaurant and bar for your Lunch. After lunch you will relax in the hotel or walk a little bit to the whites Sand beach of Saadani in the indian ocean. Enjoy the Water tides while watching some water birds and fishing boat to the far in the ocean then take with you some drinks and enjoy it on the beach while waiting for the late afternoon game drive.

Day 01 : Late afternoon and evening game drive

After some hours relaxing in the hotel the guide will pick you there with a safari jeep and go for the late afternoon and evening game drive. This time is highly recommended as it good time for spotting the predators as most of the animals are going around searching for food and water as well as predators like lions hyena, lions and leopard are searching for meals as well, so you will head to the other side of the park and explore both flora and fauna the guide will try make you explore more and know about this unique national park until the late evening.

Day 01 : Arrival and Back to Saadani safari Lodge for dinner and overnight

In the late evening it depends where 1830hrs will find you luckily you may encounter the beautiful sunsets while in the park. And start driving back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 02 : Day two Early morning game drive and Saadani Historical village

Today you will wake up very early in the morning and have morning game drive, the this is also recommended by the tour guide as it is very easy to spot the predators and more other species of animals as most of the animals prefer to hunt early in the morning and find the shade when it starts getting warm. So you will explore more about the park and then visit the Saadan historical village, you will hear a lot about how the park obtained its name, visit the old slave mark and the slaves prison later visit a baobab tree which were used by colonial masters to hang the slave who were against them, finaly visit the Cemetery of the first missionary to start Christianity mission in the coast.

Then connect to your hotel for morning breakfast.

Day 02 : Breakfast time at Saadani Safar lodge

Arrive at the hotel you will have your breakfast and wait for boat safari.

Day 02: Boat safari in the Indian ocean and later explore the Wami river

Boat safari in Saadan National park is a real adventure. Riding a boat on wami river watching hippos and crocodiles at close vicinity will bring you a sense of real African safari. This boat safari offers guest privilege to enjoy safari and beach holidays at the same time with your packed Lunch which you will enjoy it on the way.

A boat safari in the Wami River is a true highlight for any visitor to Saadani National Park. The boat safari is normally last for a duration of 3 hours up to 4 hours which offers the best chance to see several pods of hippos and huge crocodiles as well as riverine birds such as malachite, pied and even giant kingfishers. Other common birds include the woolly necked stork, common sand pipers, lilac-breasted rollers, palm nut vultures, fish eagles and ground hornbills.

So you will ride the boat with your guide explaning about the animals and birds you come across until the afternoon where you will ride the boat back to your hotel.

Day 02 :Time for relaxing in the hotel Saadani Safari Lodge

After boat Safari you will arrive back to the hotel for relaxing and your own time drinks and enjoyment at the restaurant and bar, until the evening dinner and overnight at Saadani Safari Lodge.

Day 03 : Breakfast and get into the car and drive on the park heading out.

Wake up in the morning have your breakfast and get into the car and drive back to Korogwe or Dar es salaam. You will arrive to the drop off point around 11:00 and that will be the end of our safari.

Day 03 : Drop off at Korogwe (or Dar es salaam)

The guide will drop you at the hotel of pick up or any other location depends with the visitors needs.
