09:00 AM

Meeting Point

Passages and "Conventillos" (Tenement Houses)

- We will visit the famous Pasaje de la Defensa, a grand 19th-century mansion that once belonged to the aristocratic Ezeiza family. As you walk through its elegant sequence of open-air courtyards (patios), admire the soaring high ceilings, and step on the original floor tiles, you will truly grasp the immense wealth of Buenos Aires' golden era. You will also discover how this luxury suddenly turned into poverty after the tragic yellow fever epidemic of 1871, transforming this majestic family estate into a conventillo—a bustling tenement house where dozens of immigrant families shared a single roof.

09:30 AM

San Pedro Telmo Church

We will stop at one of the oldest and most iconic buildings in Buenos Aires. Featuring a beautifully preserved colonial facade and a stunningly rich interior, this church stands as a living witness to the city's early history, dating back to the times of the Jesuit Order. Its walls hold centuries of faith, architecture, and secrets from the Spanish colonial era.

11:00 AM

The Narrowest House: La Casa Mínima

We will stop to marvel at La Casa Mínima, the narrowest house in Buenos Aires, measuring just 2.5 meters (about 8 feet) wide. You will hear the famous local legend claiming this tiny space was a gift from a wealthy master to his freed slave after the abolition of slavery. More importantly, I will reveal the true history behind this architectural anomaly and explain why that heartwarming story is actually part of a fascinating urban myth.

11:30 AM

San Telmo Market

Inside this historic market, we will focus on three fascinating aspects that define its unique character:

The Antique Aisles: A true paradise for collectors. Here, you will find vintage vinyl record players, classic glass soda syphon bottles, elegant lace fans, and traditional silver gaucho knives. It is a place where you can find an authentic artifact from literally any decade.

Local Life & Gastronomy: Witness a vibrant, living scene where traditional, decades-old butcher shops stand side-by-side with modern "third-wave" coffee shops. It’s a bustling hub where locals buy their daily groceries while travelers taste some of the absolute best empanadas in the city.

The Architecture & Construction: We will look up to admire the market's original wrought-iron columns and massive glass roof. This structure was brilliantly designed to maximize natural sunlight back in an era when electricity was still a rare luxury.

12:30 PM

Underground Secrets & Vibrant Streets

El Zanjón de Granados (The Route’s Main Exclusive): We will go underground to explore beautifully restored subterranean tunnels, 18th-century brickwork, and old cisterns that remained hidden beneath the city streets for over a hundred years. It’s a breathtaking time capsule of early Buenos Aires.

Graffiti & Urban Art: As we look up from the past, we will admire the modern murals and bold street art decorating the weathered walls of the neighborhood. This creates a stunning contrast between the elegance of the "Belle Époque" and the gritty, creative spirit of contemporary San Telmo.

Plaza Dorrego (The Heart and Soul of the Barrio): The energy of this famous square adapts to the rhythm of the week. If our tour is during the weekend, you will experience the bustling, world-famous flea market. If we visit on a weekday, you will enjoy a peaceful square shaded by old plane trees, where local dancers casually perform tango in the open air.

About Tour Guide Nataliya B.

Welcome to my Argentina, dear friends!

I have lived here for over 25 years, and I know this country not from guidebooks, but from thousands of miles traveled on the road — from the icy breath of Patagonia to the eternal roar of the Iguazu Falls. Over these years, Argentina has become my second skin, and I would be delighted to help you truly feel its heartbeat.

My mission as your guide and companion is to dissolve the boundaries between you and this incredible culture. I will introduce you to the authentic lives of the locals, share those nuances of the Argentine mindset that you won't find on the internet, and show you the Argentina that is impossible not to fall in love with.

But above all, it's about the atmosphere. I believe that people meet for a reason. After every tour, my guests become my friends, and that is the most rewarding part of what I do. We will spend our time together so that Argentina remains in your heart forever — as a vibrant, living, and truly warm memory.

I look forward to meeting you!
