Wander through this charming, historical and rejuvenated neighbourhood. Interesting architecture, together with my personal history and love for these streets make for a fun, organic and memorable tour.

We will spend time in this Farmers Market, one of the largest in North America. We'll be looking at these vendors selling local produce, many of them a reflection of French Canadian culinary traditions and also the added vibe of our new immigrants.
We will wander the streets of this dynamic neighbourhood, where italians started to create new lives once they arrived here during the 1950's/60's/70's. Both old and now new shops give this area a great energy and vigour. You will have the opportunity to try a classic italian dessert which you will enjoy in one of our many neighbourhood parks. Since I was raised in this neighbourhood my history is intertwined with these streets and I get such joy in sharing it with tourists. I will also show you how some of the old factories have been converted into an important North American headquarters for Artificial Intelligence,
Lastly I will show you one of the first Italian Community Centres built in the 1930's, a fascinating Art Deco building with a very interesting political story both from Italy and right here in Canada.
During this part of the tour you will be treated to a traditional italian dessert and a Latté from one of the many traditional coffee shops in the neighbourhood (if you don't like Coffee, substitutions can easily be made).
We will walk over to Villeray, which is a few blocks away, named by Timeout as one of the "coolest" neighbourhoods in the world. Fun culinary scene, a handful of great bakeries and Jarry Park which is the former home of the Montreal Royals and then the Expos, baseball thrived here for a very long time. Now it is a much-appreciated green space in the city and hosts the Roger Cup every summer.
