During the trip to the Museum, we will visit two sides of our city, such as the city's longest main avenue, called Avenida Libertador O´higgins which was formally know as La Alameda. From there we will head to the Museum, which is located in the Jungay neighborhood, built in the 19th Century .
It is a Bicentennial project, inaugurated in January 2010 by the then President Michelle Bachelet. The creation seeks to promote educational initiatives that invite knowledge and reflection. The installation on Matucana Street, also seeks to promote the Santiago Poniente Culture Circuit. Through objects, documents and archives in different media and formats, and an innovative visual and sound proposal, it is possible to learn about part of this history: the coup d'état, the repression of the following years, the resistance, the exile, the international solidarity and the defense of human rights.
Explore some of the Jungay neighborhood, its squares, its architecture, the Plaza del Roto Chileno, the house of the President of our country, and also the Saturnino Church, inaugurated in 1887, which is named after the Patron Saint of Santiago. "Around 13:00, it will be lunchtime, and you can enjoy a delicious Chilean lunch at a restaurant called El Huaso Enrique. You can find empanadas, cazuelas, pernil, and enjoy a pisco sour or our Chilean wines."
