Visit the Huanghuacheng Great Wall
Unlike the crowded, restoration-heavy sections like Badaling, Huanghuacheng offers a tranquil escape combining lush mountains, clear lakes, ancient fortifications, and historic chestnut groves. Visitors can hike along the original ramparts of the Great Wall.
the Huanghuacheng Great Wall is renowned as the only section of the Great Wall in Beijing linked with a water body. It derives its name from the sea of wild yellow wildflowers (huanghua) that bloom across the mountains in midsummer. It is also widely known as the Huanghuacheng Water Great Wall due to three sections naturally submerged under water following the construction of a reservoir.

If you are visiting Beijing and want an excellent guide I can 100% recommend Jenny! She arranged a bespoke 2 day tour for me to see the main sights in Beijing and also a trip out to experience the Great Wall. Jenny speaks superb English and is great company.
