On this 2-hour walking tour, we’ll explore the entire length of the city walls (almost 2 km), offering you breathtaking views of the Old Town, Mount Srđ, and the surrounding islands.
At the end of the tour, if you’d like, I can take you to one of the most popular bars just outside the city walls, where you can relax, unwind from all the walking and stairs, and enjoy the stunning beauty of the shimmering Adriatic Sea.

Pile Gate
Meeting point in front of the main entrance to the Old Town called Pile Gate.
Onofrio's Fountain at the beginning of Stradun Street
As we enter the Old Town, we’ll find ourselves at the beginning of the main street, Stradun. Here, you’ll see the famous Onofrio’s Fountain, dating back to the 15th century, and I’ll share its fascinating history and significance in Dubrovnik’s past.
From this spot, you’ll also get a glimpse of the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest functioning pharmacies in Europe, where you can still purchase natural, handmade products.
Main city walls entrance
Once we climb the stairs, you will enjoy the breathtaking birds-eye view of Dubrovnik’s old town monuments and main street Stradun.
Southside of the walls
We’ll continue to the south side of the walls, facing the sea, where you’ll see some of the most important landmarks of this part of the Old Town, such as the Fort of Saint Lawrence, the Ethnographical Museum, and the beautiful island of Lokrum.
Along the way, I’ll share with you the rich and fascinating history of Dubrovnik, once one of the most prosperous city-states in Europe.

Once we reach Saint John Fortress you will be able to see a charming Old port with its small boats and restaurants. Saint John Fortress houses a Maritime museum with many interesting artifacts and stories about incredible Dubrovnik’s maritime history.
Northside of the walls
After visiting Saint John’s Fortress, we’ll head towards the north side of the walls. Along the way, I’ll share fascinating facts about Dubrovnik’s Cathedral, Rector's Palace, the Dominican Monastery, and the fortresses of Revelin and Minčeta. You’ll also learn about Sponza Palace and Saint Blaise Church.
From this north side, the view over the entire Old Town with its terracotta roofs is absolutely breathtaking – a perfect moment to capture some beautiful photos!

We’ll end our tour where we started. If at any point you feel tired during our walk, it’s completely fine — you don’t have to complete the entire circuit. There are two exits before reaching the main entrance.
I’ll make sure to give you plenty of time to enjoy the walls, take photos, ask questions, or grab an ice cream or some refreshments along the way.

Dear travelers,
I’m a local certified guide for Dubrovnik and its surroundings.
I’m in love with history, languages, gastronomy, and travels. I'm also a mum of two little kids, so I don't have much free time :) but when I do, I enjoy reading, trying new recipes, doing pilates, watching documentaries, and listening to interesting podcasts.
My work experience includes guiding in Dubrovnik (old town, city walls, cable car, island Lokrum), Elafiti islands, the island of Korčula, Pelješac peninsula, Konavle Region.
Our country is small but has a lot to offer and I always do my best to present it in the best way, to balance information and interesting facts about the history and everyday life.
Looking forward to meeting you !
Salut,

“Magical Day in Dubrovnik”
How do I put into words the amazing journey Ana took us on during our visit to Dubrovnik Old Town and the City Walls. Fantastic, Magical, Amazing, Joyous, Historical! When we booked the tour, my wife and had no idea what to expect on our first visit to Dubrovnik so when we met Ana at the city gates, her charming smile, soft demeanor and lovely personality confirmed we made the right choice for guides. Ana, being a historian, linguist and a lifelong resident of Dubrovnik started us off with a brief history of the City Gates and her fantastic city. Upon climbing the stairs to the WALL (you know nothing John Snow) Ana began our journey with a walking tour and history lesson on the castle walls and the development of the city inside. It was beyond our dreams to have our first trip to Croatia be put into the hands of a truly passionate and knowledgeable guide. To truly know a city and its heart and soul one should embrace the history and culture for a journey that excites the mind and leaves a lasting impression on you! My wife and I were taken with Ana's depth of her passion for the castle and the amazing wall. Trekking the entire wall, you get to see 360 degrees of the most beautiful scenery along the Croatian coast. Couple that with the variety of shops and restaurants our senses were satisfied to the limit. Ana took us to her favorite places (her children loved them too) like the candy shop with so many different varieties of sugar; the gelato shop (had to taste this too!) We shopped for Olive Oil and Local cheeses and meats. Spectacular! Ana wasn't done yet and we boarded the Cable Car to the top of Dubrovnik for a view of the Old Town, the blue green waters of the Adriatic and the hills behind us. She gave us the history of her city with passion and love that you can't get from just any guide. If you are booking a guide to visit this city, then there is only one choice - Ana! “Ana was perfect ”
We love Dubrovnik. Seeing it with a local was informative and enjoyable. We had a large group of family and Ana navigated the entire group very well. The itinerary paperwork had two meeting times at the Pile Gate ( 9 and 10am). We came at 10 and that left Ana waiting more than an hour. She adjusted and was so calm and kind. We walk the southern wall and a bit of old town. She made us reservations at Marco Polo and lunch was fantastic. I would highly recommend Ana.

Dear Kim, Thank you very much for the lovely review! I’m glad you enjoyed the tour and were happy with the lunch at the chosen restaurant. I’m also glad we managed to meet in the end and still have a great experience together, despite the misunderstanding about the exact tour start time. All the best, Ana
