This is the moment when we step on the main street and you see the city's architecture for the first time. The beautiful fountain which has been built in the 15th century still serves people with fresh water every day and welcomes everyone in the city. Next to it is a Franciscan monastery with one of the oldest functioning pharmacies in the world where you can still try natural-made products even today.
This is the moment when we climb the walls and you see the main street "Stradun" from the top, which really is an incredible feeling. For the next hour - an hour and a half we will walk the walls and talk about their history, but also about the life today inside the walls. Numerous families have left the city, but many others have stayed and raised their children here in order to teach them how important this city is to them.
On this very place wherein history, many important news and events were announced and glorious things happened, today is the center of the Old Town and home to beautiful architecture like St. Balise church, the main Tower Bell or Sponza Palace, which houses the memorial room of Dubrovnik defenders from the 1991 war in Dubrovnik. That room we will visit together and I will share more stories about that period of Dubrovnik with you!
One of the most preserved buildings in Dubrovnik throughout history served as the home of the government, and today is the number 1 museum in the Old Town to visit. The Cathedral is free to enter and it also hides interesting stories of its past. I can't wait to tell you all of them!
This is our last stop which we had the chance to see from the walls, full of little boats that belong to locals and also some bigger boats used for excursions, not to forget the boat that goes to Lokrum island, that one departs from the Old Harbour. And what about the boats in history? They were very important since trading and shipbuilding was the strongest economy of Dubrovnik people in the past!
