PORT LYMPIA/COCO BEACH
We’ll start by strolling through the charming Old Port of Nice, where colorful boats and lively markets set the scene for your Riviera adventure. Along the way, we pass the beautiful Coco Beach and the surrounding protected coastal reserve, enjoying the fresh Mediterranean breeze and scenic views. This approach gently introduces you to the Sentier du Littoral, the famous coastal trail, setting the tone for a relaxed and immersive seaside hike.
Hike Along the Sentier du Littoral to Villefranche
After reaching the entrance to the Sentier du Littoral, we begin our scenic hike along this famous coastal trail. Winding along cliffs, rocky shores, and hidden coves, the path offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the rugged coastline. The trail is peaceful, away from the usual tourist crowds, allowing you to enjoy the sights, sounds, and fresh sea breeze at a comfortable pace. We’ll follow the trail all the way to Villefranche-sur-Mer, arriving at the picturesque La Darse, a charming harbor where colorful boats dock and the village’s relaxed atmosphere invites you to pause, take photos, and soak in the Riviera ambiance.
From La Darse to Plage des Marinettes via the Citadelle
Leaving the charming harbor of La Darse, we follow the coastal trail past the historic Citadelle of Villefranche, a 16th-century fortress perched above the bay. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the colorful village, calm waters, and rugged cliffs. The path leads us gently down to Plage des Marinettes, a small sandy beach perfect for a relaxing break. Here, you can dip your toes in the crystal-clear water, take photos, or simply soak in the serene Mediterranean atmosphere.End of the Hike – Plage des Marinettes
The hike concludes at Plage des Marinettes, a charming sandy beach in Villefranche-sur-Mer. After enjoying the scenic trail past La Darse and the historic Citadelle, you can relax on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear water, or simply soak in the Mediterranean atmosphere. Please note that drop-off is not included, but the Villefranche train station is conveniently located right at the beach, allowing an easy return to Nice or other destinations.
