The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is India’s premier art institution for modern and contemporary Indian art. The museum was established in 1954 with the singular aim of promoting and preserving modern Indian art. Its vast collection chronicles the trajectory of art in India from mid-18th century to the present.

The National Museum in New Delhi is one of the largest museums in India. Established in 1949, it holds variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art. The museum has in its possession over 200,000 works of art, of both Indian and foreign origin, covering more than 5,000 years of Indian cultural heritage. Its rich holdings of various creative traditions and disciplines which represents a unity amidst diversity, an unmatched blend of the past with the present and strong perspective for the future, brings history to life. The Buddhist art section has a most known for sacred relics of the Buddha (5th-4th century B.C.). It is India’s national heritage under Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

LODI ART DISTRICT
India’s first art district with paintings on walls by Indian and International artists is a beautiful walk through within the heart of New Delhi. Lodhi colony is a housing society made in the British era which is home today to most of India’s Government servers. In 2015, St+Art India foundation invited 50 artists to create these wonderful murals on the walls.
Let us walk to enjoy through these lanes of artists creations.

I take tours only from November - February as it is the best season of Delhi (so you can enjoy the tours). I limit myself to 4-5 hour tours per day. We can mutually discuss to modify tours and timings.
