Meeting Point

- Starting early in the morning, the tour avoids peak crowds and allows you to experience Old Delhi at a relaxed pace while the city is just waking up. We begin the morning with a traditional breakfast in one of Old Delhi’s most famous food streets. This is the perfect introduction to the flavors and culture of the area before the markets become busy.

Gali (bylane) Naughara

Naughara means nine (nau) houses (ghar). This alley amidst the winding lanes of Old Delhi's famous wedding market Kinari bazaar with beautiful doors and intricate carvings of an Old Haveli. A picturesque haven, you will find some rare gems and jewel sellers. At the end of this alley, there is a marble temple reflecting divine grace.

Ittar (perfume) market of Dariba Kalan

We now move through these bylane of Kinari bazaar which opens into Silver market called Dariba Kalan. This is a local indigenous perfume market called Ittar where we visit a historic perfume shop and discover the art of Indian Ittars, natural fragrances that have been made here for generations.

Old haveli of Indian poet Mirza Ghalib

We hop on a local rickshaw and drive through alley famously known as Ballimaran and visit the haveli, now turned into a museum, of famous legendary poet of 19th century Mirza Ghalib of Mughal era. This where he wrote Urdu and Persian poetry that are sung by young and old even today.

Gali Dilsukh Rai Khajanchi (Charkhewalan Area)

We now enter through quieter merchant lanes once home to wealthy traders and bankers where we experience:

• Historic business families of Old Delhi

• Traditional architecture and hidden courtyards

• Everyday life in residential Old Delhi

Haveli Dharampura

A mughal era mansion, Haveli Dharampura is the most beautifully restored Haveli of Mughal era. UNESCO awarded for restoration, the walking alley towards the haveli in itself is a photographic muse as no transport is allowed to enter.

Lunch with royalty

We enjoy lunch sitting in the verandah of Haveli Dharampura where Mughal cuisines and local specialities are served making one feel royal.

Ending Point

End the tour where we take a cab back to the hotel.
