Day 1: Rishikesh to Dwarahat – Scenic Himalayan Journey with Sacred Stops

Your spiritual journey toward Babaji Cave begins from Rishikesh, driving deep into the Garhwal Himalayas toward Dwarahat. The route itself is a pilgrimage through nature, rivers, and ancient temples.

Devprayag – The Sacred Confluence

Our first significant stop is Devprayag, one of the Panch Prayag (five sacred river confluences). Here, the emerald Alaknanda meets the Bhagirathi, and from this divine union the holy Ganga officially begins.

Adi Badri Temple – Ancient Himalayan Shrine

Continuing through scenic mountain roads, we stop at Adi Badri Temple, a group of ancient temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Dating back to the Gupta period, this peaceful temple complex is surrounded by forests and Himalayan silence. It is believed to be part of the sacred Badri region connected to Badrinath.

Arrival in Dwarahat

By evening, we reach Dwarahat, a serene Himalayan town known for its ancient temples and spiritual significance. After hotel check-in, enjoy dinner and rest, preparing for the sacred visit to Mahavatar Babaji Cave the next day.

Day 2: Dwarahat to Mahavatar Babaji Cave – Meditation in the Himalayas

After an early breakfast in Dwarahat, we drive approximately 25 km through peaceful mountain roads to reach the trail starting point for Mahavatar Babaji Cave.

From here, a 2.5–3 km Himalayan trek begins. The forest trail is serene and energizing, surrounded by pine trees and mountain silence, gradually leading you to the sacred cave.

Mahavatar Babaji Cave Experience

At the holy Mahavatar Babaji Cave, you will have time to:

Sit in silent meditation inside the cave

Chant Om and practice Kriya meditation

Absorb the powerful spiritual vibrations of this sacred place

Near the cave, a simple meditation hut built by Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) offers a peaceful space to sit, reflect, and relax in silence.

After spending meaningful time in meditation, we trek back to the parking point, meet the driver, and drive back to Dwarahat.

Visit Dwarahat Group of Temples

In the evening, we explore the ancient Dwarahat Temples, a cluster of historic stone temples dating back to the Katyuri dynasty. These temples reflect the deep spiritual heritage of the region and provide a calm atmosphere for evening contemplation.

Overnight stay at a peaceful Dwarahat homestay, surrounded by Himalayan tranquility, allowing you to rest and integrate the day’s profound spiritual experience.

Day 3: Dwarahat to Rishikesh – Sacred Confluence at Devprayag

After breakfast at your homestay in Dwarahat, we begin the scenic drive back to Rishikesh through the beautiful Garhwal Himalayas. The journey offers stunning mountain views, river valleys, and peaceful countryside landscapes.

Stop at Devprayag – Birthplace of the Ganga

En route, we stop at Devprayag, one of the most sacred confluences (Prayag) in India. Here, the emerald-green Alaknanda River meets the powerful Bhagirathi River, and from this divine union, the holy River Ganga officially begins.

Sit quietly by the river for reflection and gratitude
