Meeting Point

Piazzale Roma

- We begin our tour at Piazzale Roma, the gateway to Venice, and stroll through the quiet streets of San Polo until we reach the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, known simply as the Frari. This imposing Gothic church, built by the Franciscan friars in the 13th century and completed in the 15th, is the largest in Venice and one of its most significant. Its austere brick exterior conceals a soaring interior filled with light, space, and some of the city’s most extraordinary treasures. Inside, we encounter one of the greatest masterpieces of Venetian art: Titian’s Assumption of the Virgin (1516–1518). With its bold scale and radiant colors, it transformed Venetian painting and remains a beacon of Renaissance art. Nearby stands his Pesaro Madonna, a dynamic altarpiece that forever changed compositional balance. We also admire Giovanni Bellini’s luminous Pesaro Triptych, with its serene figures bathed in soft light, and Donatello’s striking wooden statue of St. John the Baptist, a rare example of Florentine sculpture in Venice. The Frari is also a sanctuary of memory. Here lie the monumental tombs of Venice’s great figures: Titian, honored with a grand memorial; Antonio Canova, the celebrated Neoclassical sculptor, remembered by a pyramidal mausoleum designed by his pupils; and many doges and noble families who shaped the history of the Republic. Every chapel and monument tells a story, blending spirituality, civic pride, and artistic brilliance.

09:40 AM

The Gallary of Accademia

From the Accademia Bridge,we enjoy breathtaking views before stepping into Venice’s most important art museum: the Gallerie dell’Accademia. Housed in a former monastery, the gallery preserves the greatest collection of Venetian painting, tracing the city’s artistic journey from the Byzantine Middle Ages to the Rococo. Here, every room reveals a new chapter in the story of Venice.

We admire Giorgione’s enigmatic Tempest, a milestone in Western art for its mysterious allegory and poetic landscape. We explore Veronese’s monumental Feast in the House of Levi, the largest canvas of the 16th century, dazzling in color, detail, and theatrical scale. Tintoretto’s dramatic Miracle of the Slave shows the patron saint of Venice, Saint Mark, descending in a burst of divine energy to defend a faithful servant—a patriotic vision as much as a religious one.

In Bellini’s serene altarpieces, we trace the luminous transition into Renaissance naturalism, while Canaletto and Guardi capture Venice’s atmosphere in precise, evocative views of canals, palaces, and daily life. When on display, Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man connects art, science, and philosophy in one of history’s most iconic drawings.

The Accademia is not simply a museum: it is a treasury of genius where Venetian color, light, and imagination reached their highest expression. Each masterpiece we encounter offers insight into the city’s soul, making this visit a highlight for every art lover.

12:20 AM

Rialto Bridge

After immersing in masterpieces at the Accademia,we continue our journey on foot through Venice’s labyrinthine calli. The narrow streets that reveal the city’s daily life. As we wander, we pass picturesque campi (squares) where Venetians gather, elegant palazzi built on centuries-old canals, and charming bridges arching over the waterways. This stroll through the San Polo district gives us a taste of authentic Venice, where history, tradition, and everyday life intertwine.

Our walk leads us to the heart of the city’s commercial life: the Rialto. Since the Middle Ages, this area has been Venice’s financial and economic hub, where merchants from across Europe and the East gathered to trade spices, silk, and precious goods. The bustling Rialto Market, still active today, continues this tradition with stalls overflowing with fresh produce and seafood, echoing the vibrancy of Venice’s mercantile past.

The Rialto Bridge itself is an icon of Venetian architecture. Completed in 1591 by Antonio da Ponte, its elegant single arch was considered a daring engineering feat of its time. Once lined with banks and merchants, today its arcades host small shops filled with artisanal crafts, glass, and jewelry. From the bridge, sweeping views open across the Grand Canal, showcasing the beauty of Venice’s waterways and palaces.

Walking through the Rialto area means experiencing the living heart of Venice—where trade, architecture, and daily rhythms have shaped the city for over 800 years.

Unforgettable James Bond Experience in Venice

We booked the James Bond Moonraker tour in Venice with Al, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. From the very first moment, Al’s enthusiasm, deep knowledge of both Bond films and Venetian history, and his engaging storytelling made the tour unforgettable. He brought the movie scenes to life right in front of us, pointing out filming locations, sharing fascinating behind-the-scenes facts, and weaving them together with anecdotes about the city’s culture and architecture. Al was patient and adapted the pace perfectly for us. His passion for the subject is contagious, and his friendly personality made it feel more like being shown around by an old friend than by a guide. If you’re a Bond fan—or simply want to see Venice from a unique and exciting perspective—this tour with Al is an absolute must. Highly recommended!
