This private walking tour takes you through three of Seoul’s most unique and vibrant markets. As a licensed local guide, I’ll walk with you through Korea’s largest traditional food market, a hidden herbal medicine alley, a wild vintage flea market, and the must-visit street food paradise. Along the way, you’ll experience local life, discover hidden gems, and taste what Seoul is really made of.
This itinerary can be customized to meet your needs and preferences. Send me a message with your requests!
Meeting Point
Cheongnyangni Station, Exit 1 (Subway Line 1)
- Let’s meet at Cheongnyangni Station, Exit 1 (Line 1 – dark blue line). I’ll be waiting near the exit.
Gyeongdong Market Exploration
Welcome to one of the biggest and wildest food markets in Seoul!
You’ll see piles of fresh vegetables, dried seafood, roots, spices, and things you might not recognize – and that’s the fun of it! This is where real locals shop, not tourists.
Discover Korean traditional medicine
Just next door is Yangnyeongsi, the famous herbal medicine street.
We’ll peek into the Korean Medicine Museum to learn how Koreans use herbs for health, then enjoy a warm cup of hanbang tea (it’s healthy – and surprisingly tasty!).
Vintage hunting at Dongmyo
This place is wild in a different way – full of second-hand treasures, old Korean books, funky jackets, weird tools, and more. You might find a 100-year-old coin or a jacket from the '80s. Let’s explore and see what hidden gems we can find!
Feast at Gwangjang Market
We’ll end our tour in the famous Gwangjang Market, also known as the street food heaven of Seoul.
Try bindaetteok (crispy mung bean pancake), tteokbokki, or mayak gimbap – all freshly made and full of flavor. It’s busy and loud, but exciting and delicious!

Hi! I’m Jeeseon.
Over the past several years, I’ve been working as a licensed guide, leading travelers from around the world through palaces, temples, hanok villages, traditional markets, and Seoul’s hidden local neighborhoods. I especially enjoy introducing guests to off-the-beaten-path gems and sharing the city’s authentic local atmosphere. Many of my guests say it feels like exploring the city with a thoughtful local friend.
I design every tour with care, balancing history, culture, and everyday life, so each guest can experience Seoul in a personal and memorable way. Guiding is more than a job to me, it’s a way to connect people with the heart of Korea.
My tours are ideal for curious travelers who want more than just sightseeing. I specialize in:
Korean history and culture storytelling
Practical Hangul learning experiences
Hidden gem exploration for repeat travelers
An orientation tour for first-time travelers to Korea with a Hangul learning session
