Olympic Park
It is the cradle of Korean sports in Olympic Park, which has traces of the Hanseong Baekje period, the early capital of Seoul.
One of the poorest countries since the Korean War, Korea hosted the 1988 Olympics, which is a historic site. It houses the records of the flags and athletes of 160 countries around the world who participated in the Olympics. With a total land area of 1,447㎡, the space features the Olympic Memorial Park, Sculpture Park, Tree, Lake Park, and Mongchontoseong Fortress, which you can enjoy while walking leisurely. Let's have a cup of coffee and have fun talking at the Olympic Park cafe.
Lunch
There are many restaurants around Olympic Park. We can choose a Korean restaurant near Olympic Park or a restaurant within Olympic Park.
Lotte World Tower
If there is an Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, there is Lotte World Tower in Seoul, Korea. Lotte World Tower, which boasts a height of 555 meters, is a landmark of Seoul. The view from the observatory at 123rd floor is so beautiful. Beyond Yeouido 63 Building and Namsan Seoul Tower, it has become a new landmark of Korea. It is also a place for shopping and relaxation as it has a five-star hotel, an office, an officetel, an observatory, and a duty-free shop. The nearby Seokchon Lake makes Lotte World Tower stand out even more. You can take pictures of memories at Seoul Sky. The elevator, which reaches up to 120 floors in just one minute, boasts high-end technology. Lotte World Tower's fireworks festival, which is held every year during the New Year and major events, is so attractive.
Starfield Library and K-Pop Square
Byeolmadang (Starfield) Library is located inside Starfield COEX Mall. It is a free library with a total area of 2,800㎡ and two floors. Its unique design, with a total of 70,000 books, is catching the eyes of people around the world. The study room, where the subtle lights of the 13-meter-high book store gently wrap around the entire space, is comfortable. Take the escarator to the first floor and enjoy the view of the Sunken space on the B1 floor. Cultural events such as a writer's talk show, a poetry recitation, and a book concert with lecture music are held to meet the authors in person. Next, K-pop Plaza is a space under the outer wall of COEX Artium building that is adjacent to Samsung Station, Starfield Coex Mall, COEX Artium, and Hyundai Department Store's trade center, where an average of about 5 million people per month passes. You can see handprints of Korea's representative male and female entertainers. Also, it is fun to dance while listening to songs in front of the iconic statues of Gangnam Style, which has led the K-pop Korean Wave.
Bongeunsa Temple
In the past, Korea was most influenced by Buddhism and Confucianism. In particular, Buddhism, the state religion of the Goryeo Dynasty, was pushed by Confucianism in the Joseon Dynasty, and most temples were moved to the mountain. However, Bongeunsa Temple, located in the center of Gangnam, Seoul, was able to maintain the facility under the protection of Queen Munjeong, the king's mother. Bongeunsa Temple has become a popular spot for many poets during the late Joseon Dynasty's literary Renaissance. Now, it conveys the Buddha's teachings while maintaining the tradition of Korean Buddhism. Regardless of religion, you can feel beauty and peace given by the surrounding scenery at Bongeunsa Temple.
