After picking you up from your accommodation in Marrakech, we would be delighted to take you on an unforgottable adventure to discover and learn the hidden secrets of the Berber lifestyle and the heritage in the Atlas Mountains passing through three different valleys. We will guide you through many places and valleys with stops to take pictures of the tremendous sceneries along the way.
Our first photo break to take pictures of one of the oldest villages in the area, back to about 400 years, Berbers who are the native people of Morocco had chosen to to build this village at the foothills of Atlas Mountains by the ghighaya Valley using basic local materials. This village of Azrou stand as an example of typical Berber hamlets.
Stop at an Argan Oil Co-operative run by local ladies where they are breaking Argan nuts by their magic hands and turn it to oil several cosmetic products. After enjoying tea, local made bread, olive oil, almond and peanut butter as your second breakfast, one of the ladies will be pleased to give you informations and explain all of the detailed process of making this magic product. No push to buy and the main aim of the the visit is to learn about the local things
The drive continues to the next valley of Asni, with green apple fields, Berber villages scattered around and breathtaking views of the high peaks of the Atlas Mountains, this is a must stop for more pictures. On Saturday, you can visit the local weekly market as a main cultural event that people can have here every week,
After reaching Imlil valley as our main destination in the Atlas, We will be pleased to welcome you in our family's house for an irresistible 3 courses lunch cooked and served by our family. There will be opportunities to meet the Berbers in their homeland to exchange the culture and to learn more about their history and heritage
We will then take you on a gentle hike through the typic berber hamlets of Ait souka,Targa imoula, Achayn and and other villages. Passing by green walnut and cherry tries to to the little waterfall of the region.
After walk,we will meet our driver again to take us back to Asni valley where we are changing the road passing through Kik plateau and by Takerkoust dam.
We stop by Takerkoust for a 30 minutes camel ride experience. After putting on some local outfits, the camel guide will help you riding camels and allowing you to take pictures on and with this friendly and well looked after Animal.
Off road drive starts, and after crossing a forest of eucalyptus, you will discover magnificent dame of Takerkoust before joining the closest desert to Marrakech. The landscape of the stoney Agafay desert is covered with rare wild flowers, wheat and barley, but during the summer and autumn months it looks like a real desert with stony dunes and hills running down the majestic Atlas Mountains. A stop for pictures and tea is a must with possibility to wait here for sunset.
Back to Marrakech and drop you off at your accommodation or place on your request.
