Market Tour and Cooking Class in Tangier

On this tour, you will learn so much about the Moroccan gastronomy.
Start with a tour of the market and discover the local foods (veggies, fruits, fish, spices...).
We will then make it to a local's family house. After an introduction about the Moroccan cuisine, start preparing a typical Moroccan dish (chicken, fish, beef or vegetarian Tagine), in addition to two salads.
As a part of this experience, you will also learn how to prepare mint tea that you will enjoy with Moroccan cookies.

Meet up with your guide and head to the Msellah market where the locals buy fresh foods.
Cooking workshop - Tangier Medina
Meet up with the local family, and have an introduction about the Moroccan cuisine, before starting the preparation process.
At the end, enjoy tasting the food along with mint tea.
End of the tour
At the end of the cooking class, you will be escorted to your hotel optionally (+ extra cost).

The food market is closed on Fridays, but we can still do the cooking.
This tour is not available during Ramadan (the fasting month): From 11th February to March 11th 2024

With a last minute itinerary change, we were most fortunate to schedule a tasting/walking tour with Rababe. Extremely personable and knowledgeable, she offered significant insight into Tangier's history, culture, religion, people and food while navigating the streets of the Medina and kasbah. Cultural day tour of Tangier
This cultural tour is a combination of sightseeing and walking. Start with a drive along Tangier's International districts before heading to Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules passing through California zone where the Royal palace is located. The second part would be a walking tour of the Kasbah, a fortification dating from the 15th century, and its museum which served as a Royal palace since the 17th century. Visit the vibrant Medina, its monuments, and its souks including the food market.
Food Tour of Tangier with Rababe
This is an off the beaten path experience that will allow you discover the local culture, and most of all the gastronomy of the area. This tour enables you to walk in the vibrant old Medina, its main historical districts and its food market. Along the way, we will taste different typical Moroccan food, and have a main stop for a traditional lunch.
