Meeting Point
At the airport
- - The meeting time will be decided upon your flight schedule
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer you to Hotel.
Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, one of our staff will be there at the airport to pick you up in a private vehicle. He will transfer you to your Hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Trek preparation
Before starting your trek, you will visit some of the iconic cultural heritages of Nepal which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. The sightseeing starts in the morning after breakfast and takes you to Pashupatinath, Swoyambunath, Boudhnath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. A private vehicle with a professional guide will help you to complete this Kathmandu sightseeing. In the late afternoon, we will meet in our office and discuss our trek. You will be introduced to your guide for the whole trek and he will give you some suggestions that can help you complete the journey easily.
Day 3: Kathmandu to Lukla by flight and Trek to Phakding
The Everest three-pass trek starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu-Lukla. Taking a short break at Lukla, we move ahead to Phakding crossing several suspension bridges. Overnight stay at Phakding.
Note: Because of busy air traffic, during peak trekking season, the flight to Lukla operated from Manthali Airport, Ramechap. So, we have to leave Kathmandu around 2 am to catch an early morning flight to Lukla from Manthali. From Kathmandu, you will drive around 4 hours to reach Ramechap, Manthali airport.
Day 4: Trek from Phadking to Namche Bazaar
Having our first breakfast in the mountains, we start our day hiking north along the Dudh Koshi River. We will also cross the Hilary Suspension Bridge today. Likewise, reaching Monjo Village we will show our permit cards and enter Sagarmath National Park. As the trek goes along, slowly Mt. Everest comes into our sight. Trek continues until we reach Namche Bazaar for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Acclimatization at Namche
We have a rest day today at Namche Bazaar but just exploring around Namche gives us proper acclimatization. You have options to hike to Everest View Hotel or Khumjung Monastery. Make sure you don’t stay idle the whole day. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Day 6: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Thame
Our next destination will be Thame today. Following the trail of Bhote Koshi and rhododendron forests, we reach Phurte. Further ahead, you will reach Thamo Gimpa and descend to the Khumbu Hydroelectric plant. The walk continues to Thame.
Day 7: Trek from Thame to Lungden
From Thame, we will trek to Lungden passing through Yak Pastures and enjoying the views of mountains and landscapes. En route, we will come across through Marlung village. The trek continues to Lungden, which used to be a salt trade trail of Khumbu and Tibet in the past. Overnight stay at Lungden.
Day 8: Trek from Lungden to Gokyo Valley via Renjo La Pass
Today we will cross one of the three high passes of Everest-Renjo La pass (5360m). The pass was rewarded with amazing views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho Oyu, and Mt. Makalu. Moreover, the third lake-Dudh Pokhari among the 5 major lakes of Gokyo Valley can be seen too. Descending for a while, we enter Gokyo Valley. Overnight stay at Gokyo.
Day 9: Acclimatization Day at Gokyo, Hike to Gokyo Ri
Rest day at Gokyo valley allows us to ascend Gokyo Ri. The views point provides us dazzling views of Everest region and two beautiful lakes-Thonak Tsho Lake and Ngozuma Lake. Further, you can witness beautiful views of Cho Oyu Base Camp and Ngozumpa Glacier on the north of fith Gokyo Lake. After exploring Gokyo Ri we return down to the valley and stay overnight.
Day 10: Trek from Gokyo to Thangnak
Today we will be crossing Ngozumpa Glacier first with several ascending and descending. You need to be careful while walking as the trek is rocky and tricky too. The trek continues down to the valley from where the views become more beautiful. It gives you even more encouragement to move ahead. Upon arriving in Thagnak we stay overnight here after a short trek today.
Day 11: Trek from Thangnak to Dzongla crossing Cho La pass
We will have some tough trails to cover today as we will be walking on rocky trails and glacial moraines. But, the thrilling part is we will cross another pass today i.e. Cho La Pass (5420m). The pass connects Thagnak and Dzongla. During the trek through the pass, you will be rewarded with views of Mt. Everest and other peaks. Crossing Cho La pass, we will descend to Dzongla and stay overnight.
Day 12: Trek from Dzongla to Louche
After finishing breakfast, we will continue our walk to Lobuche today. At the beginning part, the trail goes through the moraine and descends alongside Chola Lake. Along the journey, we can see memorial statues of climbers who lost their lives in this region. Following the path of Imja Khola, we reach Lobuche. It is a famous Everest Base Camp Trekking trail. Overnight stay at Lobuche.
Day 13: Trek from Lobuche to EBC and back to Gorakshep
One of the exciting parts of our trekking journey comes today, as we hike to the famous Everest Base Camp. The day begins hiking through the lateral moraine of Khumbu Glaciers which leads us to Gorakshep. Leaving our baggage at Gorakshep, we trek to Everest Base Camp.
Trekking to Everest Base Camp is itself one of a lifetime experience but doing it through 3 high passes trek is an achievement of your dedication and determination. You can enjoy some of the beautiful views from Base Camp and take some amazing photos for your memories. After that, we will descend to Gorakshep to stay overnight.
Day 14: Hike to Kala Patthar and trek back to Lobuche
Another day brings another opportunity to witness the close-up views of Mt. Everest. Waking up early in the morning, we will hike to Kala Pathhar and enjoy the sunrise views of Mt. Everest. The viewpoint delivers 360-degree views of mountains. We will descend to Gorakshep enjoy breakfast and trek back to Lobuche.
Day 15: Trek from Lobuche to Chukkung via Kong ma La pass
Today we will cross our final pass among three high passes trek of the Everest Region. Also, Kong Ma la Pass is challenging among all the high passes trek. The pass allows you to witness majestic views of Lhotse, Lhotse Sar, Makalu, and Ama Dablam. Descending from the pass we head to the eastern side of Nigyang Khola and move ahead to Chukkung Village. Overnight stay at Chukkung.
Day 16: Trek from Chukkung to Tengboche
The trek continues descending to Imja Khola and walking via Dingboche village. The village is popular for its farmlands and alpine pastures. Further ahead, we reach Pangboche and continue to Tengboche village. Tengboche offers dazzling views of Ama Dablam, Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse. Moreover, you can visit Tengboche Monastery and experience the Buddhist tradition. Overnight stay at Tengboche.
Day 17: Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar
Today we will trek down to Namche bazaar through dense forests and if we are lucky we can see pheasant, musk deer, and mountain goats. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Day 18: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla
The final day of our trek will take us back to Lukla from where we started at the beginning. We climb down on a steep trail and cross suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. Likewise, crossing several local villages we arrive at Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu or Manthali
If the weather is clear and everything goes as planned, we fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning. After reaching Kathmandu, you will have the whole day to relax and rest. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
Note: If the flight goes to Manthali then, you will drive in a public vehicle back to Kathmandu which takes around 4 hours.
Day 20: Departure
Your trip to Nepal ends today and one of our staff from CTN will drop you to the airport in a private vehicle. We wish you the best of luck for your destination ahead.
