Depart Fátima and travel through the lush green scenery of Ribatejo, a traditional agricultural region still untouched by mass tourism. Your first stop is Tomar, a picturesque riverside town founded by the Knights Templar. Here, I’ll personally guide you through the impressive 12th-century Templar Castle and the UNESCO-listed Convent of Christ, one of Portugal’s most significant and fascinating monuments.

Aqueduct of Pegões

Continue with a guided visit to the Aqueduct of Pegões, a remarkable 16th-century engineering masterpiece built to supply water to the Convent of Christ and a testament to Portugal’s architectural ingenuity.

Almourol Castle

The journey then leads to the iconic Castle of Almourol, one of the most romantic medieval castles in Portugal. Dramatically set on a small island in the Tagus River, this former Templar stronghold is reached by a short boat crossing, offering unforgettable views and a true step back in time.
