French Sintra Tour Guides

Pedro F.

I`m a calm person and I pay attention to detail. Also i like to pass on knowledge and good mood and i have a degree from Turismo de Portugal specific to the Sintra area and 8 years of experience. Regarding the area where I work and where I have always lived, I know all the monuments and their stories. The Sintra area is not only palaces and gardens, it has beaches and other interests as well. I like to provide a good experience and captivate people in relation not only to the monuments but also to our gastronomy and local handicrafts. I think the experience is further enriched with a local guide who knows the stories and places that don't usually come in the tourist guides.

I have been living abroad and travelling extensively. When i came back to Portugal, wanted to build a unique experience for visitors looking to learn more about our amazing country. Not only history, but rather learning about life, culture and seeing Portugal through the eyes of a local. We will not talk about monuments only, we will discuss day-to-day life, culture, food, economy, politics, education... You choose, as the interaction will make the difference, and your tour will be unique to you

I’ve been working as a tour guide for over 8 years, starting from scratch and gaining experience with some of the biggest tour operators in Lisbon. Over time, my passion for exploring, studying, and sharing the best of Portugal — from north to south — led me to become a full-time private guide, studying and certifying myself as an officially licensed tourist guide by the Portuguese Republic. Throughout these years, I’ve been constantly deepening my historical knowledge while guiding travelers, which not only expanded my understanding of Portugal, but also sparked a genuine curiosity for different cultures and traditions. That’s what drives me to design unique, off-the-beaten-path experiences across the country — always aiming to deliver something authentic, local and memorable. I describe my job simply: to give you the perfect day, tailored to your pace and preferences, in the region (or regions!) that interest you most in our small paradise. • Certified Tourist Guide by the Portuguese Republic: 689/2025 • Tourism of Portugal RNAAT: 26/2024 • Fully licensed and insured, registered with Turismo de Portugal • “Clean & Safe” certified Private tours available for up to: – 4 passengers in a Mercedes E-Class sedan – 8 passengers in a Mercedes Vito van (additional fee applies) For larger groups than 8 requiring a minibus, feel free to reach out for availability and a custom quote.

As a tourist guide in Portugal, I am part of a passionate and diverse community of professionals dedicated to unveiling the secrets and charms of our country to visitors from around the world. Like my fellow guides, I have the privilege of sharing the richness of our culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes with those who seek to explore all that Portugal has to offer. As guides, we are much more than mere storytellers or holders of historical facts. We become living ambassadors of Portuguese hospitality, warmly welcoming every traveler who crosses our path and providing memorable experiences that go beyond conventional tourist itineraries. Together, we represent a wide range of specialties and interests, each bringing our own unique perspective to enrich our visitors' experiences. Whether revealing the secrets of Lisbon's narrow streets, guiding through the vineyards of the Douro, or exploring the medieval castles of the Alentejo, we are committed to showcasing the best that Portugal has to offer in an authentic and captivating way. Furthermore, as tourist guides, we are committed to sustainability and the preservation of our cultural and natural heritage. We work closely with local communities to ensure that tourism positively benefits the regions we visit and that we leave a positive and lasting impact on each destination. In summary, as tourist guides in Portugal, we have the honor and pleasure of sharing our passion for our country with the world. Together, we are the guardians of hidden treasures, the passionate storytellers, and the dedicated travel companions who ensure that every visit to Portugal is truly unforgettable.

We are mindful of the changes the tourism boom has brought to Lisbon in recent years, which is why we support the art of hospitality without neglecting our genuine Lisboan identity and this is what we will share with you. We like detours and how they keep surprising us. We might stop for 20 minutes to see the sunset or take a walk and go have a ginginha at that special place. We don’t want your trip to Lisbon to taste like a frozen meal. What we serve here is homemade and freshly prepared.

My name is Ricardo and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even this year 2021 with pandemic work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living your life. Come and see my amazing town Porto and Douro Valley Wine Region from the eyes of a local !!! Hope to see you soon. Cheers !!! Ricardo
