Regarding the area where I work and where I have always lived, I know all the monuments and their stories. The Sintra area is not only palaces and gardens, it has beaches and other interests as well. I like to provide a good experience and captivate people in relation not only to the monuments but also to our gastronomy and local handicrafts.

I have a Bachelor Degree in Tourism and was licensed National Tourist Guide in 1998. I finished a Degree in History in 2013 and in 2021 my Master in History and Philosophy of Science. I have been working as a tourist guide with german, english and portuguese speaking groups in roundtrips/circuits within the country. I have experience in hiking tours, cultural tours and guided tours of monuments and museums throughout the whole national territory. I manage the projects Passeios Literários and Lisbon by the Book — both specialized in literary guided tours of Lisbon, and work as a guide for both projects as well. I’m the co-creator and responsible for the development of guided tours through the cultural heritage of the city of Lisbon for the project História LX — History, Heritage and Culture of Lisbon. My name is Ricardo and I was born and raised in Porto City. Although tourism changed Porto for the best (in my opinion) for the last 5 years, me and my family had to move out from Porto, into the bush, housing and living costs became very high and we made the choice that we should move out to the countryside. In this last year 2020 and even this year 2021 with pandemic work just fell down drastically and we had to adapt. Making Port Wine, Muscat wine and sometimes olive oil in a amatuer way since 2014, this hobbie become my family income. With vineyards and olives fields almost abandoned from the pandemic I rolled up my sleeves and went to work, asking neighbours and friends if I could keep their grapes and olives for harvest time, their answers were immediately YES Dividing my life between Porto and Douro Valley, me and my family feel completely safe, happy and relaxed with this new way of living your life.
