I received a license in 2016 from the Korea Tourism Organization as a qualified professional tour guide. I have guided a variety of tours for people and tourists from all over the world and have been doing so for over 6 years. Before being a tour guide I spent most of my career working in the banking industry for almost 30 years, starting with Korea First Bank which later became a US based Newbridge Capital and UK based Standard Chartered Bank until I retired in 2016. My experience in the banking industry was very much customer-first and dealing with the public which laid the cornerstone and passion to becoming a tour guide. After retiring from the bank, I worked as a lecturer for a volunteering organization run by the local public office and taught students about the environment and disabilities. With various experiences and personal management skills, these challenges have provided a real life, hands on cultural nuances which will promote friendship and expand life experiences between different cultures. I'm based in Seoul but will be happily arrange the tours to Busan, Gyeongju, Sokcho, Jeonju etc. as a customized tour. Feel free to drop me a request message.

Hello everyone, I am Paul, a tour guide in Seoul. I am English tour guide certified by Ministry of Culture & Sports & Tourism with indepth experiences over 150 tours for international tourists. I provide the professional and reliable tour guide service for international tourists, based on the knowledge of Confucianism, that is the spirit of Joseon Dynasty. Tourist attractions in Seoul are reflected on Confucianism. Seoul is a fascinating destination that seamlessly blends the old with the new. I'm excited to show you some of the best things to make your trip fun and excited, through my deep knowledge about culture and history of Korea and exuberant experiences as tour guide. My primary tourist destinations are located ii Seoul and metropolitan area, consisting of 5 palaces, Royal Ancestral Shrine, Bukchon Hanok Village, National museum of Korea, War Memorial of Korea and other museums & galleries and contemporary architectures, and Namsan Mt. with N-Seoul Tower, traditional & trendy market places such as Gwangjang market & Hondae street, and also Korean Folk Village & DMZ tour in neighboring cities. Alongside, I am specialist for hiking to Bukhansan Mt. and Inwangsan Mt. located in downtown Seoul, where you can enjoy beautiful natural sceneris and stunning view of Seoul. Center of culture and tour is architecture. Architectural style represents spirit of times. We can see as much as we know about spirit of times. Without knowledge of spirit of times, we cannot fully appreciate beauty and value of traditional architecture. Confucianism was the spirit of Joseon Dynasty. Gyeongbokgung represents Confucianism. Confucianism culture of Joseon Dynasty is unique characteristic of Korean culture, compared to Chinese, Japanese and European culture. Hence, my tourist information is based on Confucianism. With my deep knowledge of Korean culture & history, you can enjoy your tour in Korea. Thank you for your interest! As your guide, I hope to see you soon in Seoul!

Hi. I'm Lee! I was born and raised in Seoul, and lived in five different countries, Canada, US, Australia, Russia and Germany. I also traveled over 40 countries mostly alone. I studied Business in Seoul with a year exchange program in US, and completed MBA in Sydney. After MBA I wanted to pursue a career change as a professor with my field experience. I was a Market researcher, Research analyst and Marketer in big companies. Highly paying and stable job. It was what many called a good life. But I always liked to be in the nature better than the office. I hiked Kilimanjaro summit alone, Annapurna Base Camp alone, Olympus alone, Everest Base Camp, Fuji, Alps alone and many other mountains in the world. (Alone means literally alone or with a guide. In some countries you must hire a guide). Also I've led a hiking club over 4 years and fly overseas more than 5 times per year and hike. So I decided to have my own travel agency and operate hiking and city tours. Most of my tours are of food and hiking. Now I can hike even more often, have good food with travelers and practice calligraphy everyday which I love too. 70% of Korea is mountainous and amazingly beautiful. And the food is so yummy! If you visit Korea, please contact me! Just like I enjoy my hometown, Seoul, I really want others to enjoy the culture and nature too. Thank you for reading it. Hope to meet you in Korea. :-) Cheers, Lee CREDENTIALS . English language tour guide for foreign guests (Korea Tourism Organization) . MBA in Sydney/ Bachelor in Business Administration in Seoul . Korean language teacher certificate (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism) . International TEFL and TESOL Diploma in teaching English (ITTT) . Mountain leader program (Korean National Park Mountain Safety Institute) . Solo hiked in Kilimanjaro summit, ABC, Olympus, Alps, and much more . Group hiked in EBC, Kala Patthar, Fuji, Altai, and much more . Hiking club leader over 4 years .
