One of the best examples of the renaissance architecual style. It now belongs to the house of Alva. If you are interested we can visit the palace (entrance fee)
The private university which was before a convent for the Jesuits. One of teh best baroc buildings of Spain. we can visit this monument (entrance fee). In front of the university we see the shell house and certainly we will go in to see its beautifull patio (freen entrance)
Place where students were taught greek and latin. In this patio there is a wonderfull painting of the Sky of Salamanca
Admire the platerseque facade of the historucal building of the university which has got a lot to tell us.
We can either just get a delicious ham sandwich or really give us a treat and have a good meal. What ever you prefer
Get a taste of the student life in the 15th and 16th century, the university of Salamanca is the oldest of Spain and also called "Alma matter" for the universitues all over teh american continent in those days. (entrance fee)
We will visit both cathedrals. So we will be travelling beetween the 12th until the 18th century by just visitng these 2 buildings.
If we go up the clock tower we will have vieuws over the city and outbound since we will be going on top of some towers. we will also see both cathedrals on the inside bu from a height. The monumetn is called Ieronimus medievsl towers, so no, there are no elevators. Youw ill have to go up 220steps, good for your health.
Best visited museum of this reagion. If you are a fan of Art deco art nouveau you can not miss this visit.
House of the Dominicos with a altar piece of Churrigueresco style (one of the reasons Salamanca is world heritage city). Not only for the building itself worth a visit, the history made here is impressive. Internaitional law, human rights, modern economy. It all happend here and even more
House of the Dominicas and one of teh most beautifull cloisters of Salamanca. And if you are in for some good cookies here you can get very good pasteries.
Untill 2020 it was a convent, now a museum with frescos of the 15th century. It has won aprice from the UNESCO because of its restauration.
