Hi, Thank you for visiting my page!
I am Kyohei. I was born and raised in Takayama, and learned English in Canada.
Due to its seclusion from other cities, Takayama has developed a unique culture and history, and its residents have lived here for a long time relying on the region's abundant mountain and natural resources.
I am looking forward to sharing the true Hida Takayama that can only be conveyed by a local resident.
Thank you!

“What a beautiful day”
Kyohei is a very experienced, kind and flexible young guy. We have changed more times our starting time no problem. We wanted some sudden changes no problem. We have got some special requests no problem. The tour at Kamikochi itself was beautiful no need to specify. Kyohei served us hand made bento boxes which were delicious. One additional extra. We wanted to go for a special japanese “Kaiseki” dinner with my vegetarian wife what he organized for us and it was phantastic as well. So thank you Kyohei once again we would never forget Regards Arpad

Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. It was truly a pleasure guiding you through Kamikochi and supporting your journey in Japan. I’m very glad to hear you enjoyed the bento lunch and the Kaiseki dinner—it was my pleasure to help arrange something special, especially considering your wife’s dietary needs. Your flexibility and kindness made everything go smoothly, even with the sudden changes. I’m grateful for the wonderful time we shared, and I truly hope our paths will cross again in the future. Wishing you all the best and many more memorable adventures in Japan! ありがとうございました! Kyohei

“Two days with Kyohei”
Kyohei made our stay in Takayama and our car trip to Shirakawago with an additional tour the next day more than memorable. He was friendly, patient and reassuring at all times. We covered a huge amount of ground walking around Takayama, stopping for some shopping at places we would never have found. We had coffee in the morning at an out of the way place, which was perfect. We lunched at a fantastic restaurant we would never have found and he made really good recommendations for dinner that evening. His suggestion for an amazing bar for a nightcap was one of our highlights in Japan. He drove us to Shirakawago in his car the next day and showed us the sights before dropping us at our hotel. Because we wanted to change our bus departure time, he drove to the bus station and helped us buy tickets. Because we could only cancel our original tickets in line, he also did that for us as well. To cap it all off, he also rang our previous hotel back in Matsumoto to assist with a minor problem. Thank you, Kyohei, you were above and beyond.

“Private tour - Takayama and Shirakawago”
We had an incredible day exploring Takayama and Shirakawago with Keith. Having already spent a day in Takayama on our own, we could really appreciate the difference Keith made to our experience. He came well-prepared, equipped with an iPad featuring a detailed presentation of highlights and images. He would seamlessly bring it out to answer our questions, which added a lot of value to our trip. Keith's English was impeccable, likely due to his time in Canada, which made our conversations effortless and enjoyable. This was particularly important for our daughters, who were full of questions—a rarity for them unless they feel completely comfortable with the language. Being a local, Keith greeted people as we walked around, which gave us an authentic feel of the area. It was a wonderful experience, and we felt truly immersed in the local culture.
