Hi! I'm Mao. My home town is Takayama and I like here a lot! I’d like to show you! I love meeting friends, chatting, travel around, play sports, drinking and go to my favorite restaurants. I'll offer more local sightseeing spots,eateries,cafes,bars and leisure facility and also I'm familiar with suburban area.
I have an experience of living in BC, Canada and then taught Japanese and culture for kids in a school. After that, I have been working at a hostel in Takayama. I like to meet people and to know new things for me.

Casual tour in Takayama
I'll guide main part of Takayama and local place. We'll go old town, morning market, sake breweries, shrines and temples area, also good cafes or eateries. Also I can arrange a plan where you want to go like to see cherry blossom, to walk in country side.
Country side tour in Takayama
We will go country side in Takayama.This is a journey to landscape in the original state in Japan.Here is a very local side so you can experience deep Japan.
Skiing and snowboarding tour
Enjoy skiing, snowboarding and playing with snow at the snow park! We have amount of powder snow every year! Whether you are use to snow or not, you would enjoy then! I really like snowboarding, let’s go together! Available month is from December to March.
Hida Furukawa Tour
Furukawa is a small town next to Takayama. We can go just 15 minutes by train from Takayama. It locate on the way to Toyama, Kanazawa by train. We will go around the town which more calm and not too touristy.
Kamioka Local Tour, far from one hour from Takayama
Kamioka is a nostalgic town of Japanese olden days. It was a biggerst main town over 50 years ago, so the atmosphere is still remain everywhere. It has such a cozy local stores. Also it has popular activity "Rail mountain bike Gattan Go!!",so if you have a time, it's a good activity as well. So the town shows local, slow, deep side of country side of Japan. If you prefer Syowa era of Japan, this town like that.

“Young, enthusiast guide with sense of humor”
My time in Takayama would have been less interesting if I didn’t book a tour with Mao-san. She’s a young and enthusiast guide. She has a surprising sense of humor. She was so kind to listen to my requests and could combine Takayama with a short visit in Furukawa. She gave me good advice on where to eat. Grazie Mao-san!
