“A fantastic tour with hidden gems”
I initially booked this tour because I’m a huge Initial D fan, but I ended up getting so much more out of it than I expected. Rieko was very knowledgeable about the specific sites we visited! One of the highlights was when we went to a restaurant that served the best soba I’ve had in Japan! However, the biggest surprise of the day was Haruna Shrine. It was an on-and-off rainy day, and somehow, that just made the place even more stunning. The misty atmosphere, combined with the natural beauty, created such a peaceful setting. If you’re considering a tour in the Gunma area, I can’t recommend Rieko enough. She’s the perfect guide for both Initial D fans and anyone interested in the cultural gems of the region. Whether you’re visiting for anime-related spots or just looking to explore, this tour is definitely worth it!

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed not only the Initial D spots but also Haruna Shrine and the soba restaurant. This summer was extremely hot in Japan, and I was worried about the weather. On the day of our tour, it turned out to be drizzly. It was not perfect, but the light rain created a mysterious and beautiful atmosphere, which I think made the experience special. I also enjoyed our conversations, and thank you for sharing stories about countries I have yet to discover. It was such a pleasure to be part of your journey.

“Well spent day”
Rieko is very knowledgeable about the background of the sightseeing places we went. Throughout the trip, she also told us stories in relation to Gunma, which made us more familiar with the place. Not only that, she was flexible to cater our needs. Since the day was pretty cold, she brought us to a local coffee shop to have a hot drink. Moreover, an additional place was added to our trip, which we thought was a special place. It was the Kumano Koutai Shrine, locating between Nagano and Gunma Prefectures. The other three places we visited were also in these two prefectures. That last tour spot was meaningful to our trip. We really appreciate Rieko’s thoughtful arrangement!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. I’m grateful we were able to see and experience various aspects of Gunma’s beautiful nature together. The combination of blooming azaleas and Chatsubomi moss was stunning. With all the fresh greenery around, I hope you and your family enjoyed strolling through the new-leaf season not only in Gunma, but also in the other places you visited. Thank you again for spending part of your journey with me.

“Book the Initial D Tour with Reiko!”
We were very hopeful that we could see the Initial D mountain pass when we came to Japan. We found Reiko who does tours in the Haruna area so we asked her if she could modify the tour to include Initial D stuff and she said yes! She picked us up from Takasaki Station and had already curated an amazing experience for us which combined the beauty of Mount Haruna and the sites of Initial D. She took us first to Haruna Shrine which was breathtaking and peaceful. She explained the history of the shrine and its significance. Then she drove us to Lake Haruna where Takumi delivered tofu and let us take pictures. Then we were off to the start line of the course and then the downhill run! Next she took us to D'z Garage for some snacks, pictures, and shopping. We Then went to the Shibukawa visitors office and picked up our official Initial D manhole cover cards. Reiko took us to every, single, Initial D manhole cover even the ones at the top of Ikaho Onsen! I cannot thank her enough for making my car boy dreams come true. It truly was an amazing and unique experience that my wife and I will treasure forever.

I'm truly glad you enjoyed the tour. As someone from Gunma and a fan of Initial D, it was such a pleasure to share the experience with you two. Seeing your photos and hearing the low engine sound reminded me of that excitement again. Thank you for having me as your guide and for joining a slightly tougher walking tour. I hope you and your wife immerse Japanese car culture and take home some unforgettable memories. Have a wonderful trip!

I'm Yukiko. I'm a Licensed Tour Guide and a Registered Nurse. I've worked as a guide since 2015. Thanks to increasing repeat, referred and new clients, tour guide is my main job. I was born and raised in Tokyo. I am 3T lover- Travel, Tea ceremony and Traditional and modern arts. I am a mother so that I'd be glad to welcome families with young children. I used to teach Japanese cultures to elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 at local and private elementary schools when I lived in Canada, United states, and New Zealand. My happiest moments with these children were when they look forward to another lesson every week. All lessons were customized and prepared after discussing with each classroom teacher. It was a challenging job, but this experience broaden my horizon and prompted me to become an English tour guide. My main tour area are Tokyo, Kamakura, Yokohama, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Gunma and Nikko. It's a private personalized tour so that I'd be happy to discuss about it with you in advance to make your tour pleasant. We can include Japanese cultural experiences if you'd like. I also have done virtual experience on Amazon and company events during the last 3 years pandemic. I took the plunge, it was definitely a great step and enhanced my guiding skills. I have a license of Registered Nurse and a Medical interpreter. I've still worked as a nurse during the off- tourism season so that I've kept a medical back ground. I've experienced to do several tours for mobility challenged clients who have intractable disease and have a difficulty for a long walking. Mobility challenged customers (cane/wheelchair) are always welcomed. I'd love to make your trip meaningful and unforgettable. Please feel free to contact with me anytime.
