Nada Sake Brewery and Tasting
The Nada area, which stretches from Kobe City to Nishinomiya City, is home to five breweries, and our tour will visit two of them. The sake produced here is made using mineral-rich underground water known as Miyamizu, and is characterized by its powerful flavor and aroma. It's said that the area supplied 80% of the sake consumed in the Edo period. Why not embark on a journey to discover your favorite sake while touring the breweries and learning about and experiencing the history of the city?

“Efficient Energetic Entertaining - just a perfect day”
Ryuichi knew I wanted a relaxing nature packed day after 3 hectic days in Tokyo. My visit to Japan was all about cherry blossoms and photo opportunities. I shared some ideas I picked up from the Internet and he took it upon himself to visit my suggestions, and fortunately he did excellent groundwork resulting in a better plan to maximize what I was looking to see and do. And he inserted some surprise stops that made the day full and perfect. He made sure I was physically comfortable and I so appreciated the great photos he took of me that he promptly shared with for inclusion onto it was a great day. my Facebook travelogue. He had our itinerary printed, which was very helpful for the creation of my post.

Hi Kathleen, It was such an honor to meet you! I’m truly inspired by your adventurous spirit—traveling to Japan for the first time all by yourself. I'll do my best to keep moving forward, just like you! Even though it was a bit chilly, I’m so glad you could enjoy the nature of Kobe in such tranquility. Silence, peace, and meditation... that is exactly what "Wellness Tourism" is all about. It makes me so happy that we could share that experience together. Regarding that cherry blossom tunnel—sadly, some of the older trees are scheduled to be cut down soon. This was actually the last chance to see them in their full glory. I'm so grateful I could show them to you before they're gone. Let’s stay in touch! They say every "goodbye" is just a new beginning. Take care, Ryuichi

Thank you so much for your overly generous compliments! I really appreciate it. It was definitely a packed schedule, but I was honestly amazed by your energy and passion. Spending the morning relaxing on a boat in Arashiyama, then diving into the hustle and bustle of Dotonbori in the evening—that contrast was amazing. It really made me realize once again how much the Kansai region has to offer. I truly enjoyed our time together, and I'm very grateful for the experience. Ryuichi

Shawn D.
My name is Shawn. I am American and I have been living in Japan for the last 15 years. What started as a chapter became a life, and Japan has shaped who I am in ways I am still discovering. I guide exclusively in English. After 15 years as a foreigner navigating this country, I understand what genuinely moves Western visitors, what surprises them, and most importantly, the difference between a quality experience and a tourist trap. I will always steer you toward the real thing. I am based in Kobe, a city that most tourists fly straight past on their way to Osaka and Kyoto. That is their loss and your opportunity. Kobe is a relaxed, walkable port city with a character unlike anywhere else in Japan. Yes, the Kobe beef is world class. But Kobe is also one of the most historically rich and visually beautiful cities in the country, without the overwhelming crowds you will find elsewhere. I know this city and this region deeply. From Kobe, Kyoto and Osaka are both reachable in well under an hour by train. That puts you at the center of the best region in Japan without the noise and chaos of staying in a major tourist hub. I cover the full Kansai region and beyond, from famous landmarks and cultural sites to the strictly local places most visitors never find. I am also available for early morning and late evening tours. Some of the most memorable experiences in Japan happen when the crowds are gone. Every tour is planned around you. Tell me what matters and I will build the day around it. Come find out what Japan means to you. Shawn
