Most people know of Cambridge's excellence in many fields of human study and activity. Yet, fewer people know how their environment shaped many of its pioneering individuals. This walking tour invites you to admire the sheer beauty of Cambridge's streets, bridges and green spaces while you hear some fascinating stories about such people of both past and present: kings, queens, presidents, Nobel Prize winners, Hollywood actors, military leaders, religious reformers, healthcare pioneers, etc.

Market Square outside a shop named "Anthropologie"
- Market Square is at the very heart of the city centre. The Anthropologie shop is on the right hand corner of The Guildhall building in Peas Hill.
It's all a matter of degrees, isn't it? Especially when different people coexisted in a state of tension after one group was granted privileges over the other group.
Kings, geniuses and treasurers make a unique successful combination in this college.
Walking, talking and writing: the man who gave us Narnia and Mere Christianity lived and worked here.
A unique spot which has witnessed the doings of meticulous medics, inventive engineers and unbending men
A most unusual clock and a common pub with an uncommon history. As if that wasn't enough, a most ancient church building, too.
Science changed forever as a result of discoveries that took place at the laboratory housed in a neo-Gothic building... just like so many other buildings in Cambridge. A "Who is Who" among famous scientists has passed through its doors.
A deposit of priceless manuscripts. A will and testament that has changed the health conditions of millions. A set of clothing that marks you apart from other fellows.
Have you ever heard the angel-like singing of the King's College Chapel Choir? If you are one of those who does, this will be the highlight of your visit to Cambridge.
End of tour.

Hello! I am Manuel, an experienced and professional tour guide with extensive knowledge of the historic city centre of Cambridge.
My walking tours describe men and women whose ideas and actions have affected nearly every area of human endeavour. It is very likely that someone from your region or country is already in this city to either work or study. How can that be possible in a city of less than 150,000 people?
Come to one of my tours and find out. I will ensure that, no matter your background or age, your visit to Cambridge is a memorable experience. I hope to see you soon!
“Great Tour, Great Guide, Great Time!”
I went on the CS Lewis tour and it was a great experience. Would highly recommend taking any tour with this guide, as he is very knowledgeable and conversational! My only regret is that I only had time to do one tour!
