Summer Palace
Summer Palace formerly known as the Garden of Clear Ripples was a royal garden during the Qing Dynasty of China located at No. 19, Xinjingumen Road, Haidian District, in the western suburbs of Beijing. Based on Kunming Lake and Wanshoushan Mountain, the Summer Palace was built with the scenery of West Lake in Hangzhou and the design techniques of Jiangnan Gardens, and is known as the “Royal Garden Museum”.
The water surface of the Summer Palace accounts for about three-fourths of the garden. There are more than 100 buildings, 20 courtyards, more than 3,000 ancient buildings, and more than 1,600 old and famous trees in the garden. The main attractions include the Buddha's Fragrant Pavilion, the Promenade, the Stone Boat, Suzhou Street and the Seventeen-Hole Bridge, which are all unmissable places to visit in the Summer Palace!
