2000 years of history and around 1,000 listed monuments await you in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Regensburg. Originally founded as a Roman military camp, the city developed into the first capital of Bavaria and a leading European trading center in the later centuries. Since Regensburg remained almost untouched by the WW II bombing raids, visitors are greeted by an intact old town today.

Hall of Liberation/Kelheim

Over 150 years ago, the Bavarian King Ludwig I commissioned the Hall of Liberation as a memorial for the victorious battles against Napoleon Bonaparte. Today the huge circular hall with its marble goddesses of victory is certainly one of the most impressive buildings in Bavaria and also rewards with a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape.

11:00

Regensburg

Get to know the World Cultural Heritage of Regensburg on a guided tour. I will show you the following sights, among others:

** Regensburg Cathedral with one of the largest stocks of medieval stain glass windows

** Stone Bridge, in the Middle Ages called the 8th wonder of the world

** Historic Sausage Kitchen with probably the best Bratwurst worldwide

** Dynasty Towers that can't be found anymore in any other German city

** Porta Praetoria, the Roman origin of Regensburg

There will be time for yourself if you wish (lunch, shopping etc. ). Or you can add a boat trip on the Danube to your Regensburg experience.

14:30

Walhalla/Donaustauf

After a short ride from Regensburg (25 min.) we will reach Walhalla.

This national monument is a big surprise to its visitors as from the outside it looks like the Parthenon in Athens, just located on a hillside above the Danube. Inside the impressive building marble busts honor leading lights of German history and outside visitors are rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Danube valley.
