The Castle District walking tour includes guided walking tour with a local tour guide, visiting all of the most important highlights of the Castle District. Food tasting and lunch choices are optional. The itinerary is flexible. Depending on your own needs, we can find a solution to organize the best tour experience for you!

We meet at your hotel or at your apartment and we start our private tour from there.
Batthyány Square
Batthyány Square is a busy traffic junction point on the Buda side, easily accessible by Metro line 2. You can have a beautiful panoramic view of the Parliament building from there.
Zero Kilometre Stone
All distances in Hungary are calculated from here, it is the official centre of the town. From here, we can either take the Buda Castle Funicular or walk to the Castle District.
The Royal Palace of Buda
Today, the palace houses the National Gallery, the Budapest Historical Museum and the Széchényi Library.
The Church of Our Lady
Also known as Matthias Church. It was the earliest and most complete Gothic building in Hungary.
Fishermen's Bastion
Frigyes Schulek came up with the idea of building a decorative background to the Matthias Church, also creating a look-out terrace over the river.
Mary Magdalene Tower
The tower supposed to be part of the oldest gothic church of the Castle District. There is a spectecular panoramic view from the lookout tower.
End of tour at: Ruszwurm Confectionery
Ruszwurm is the oldest confectionery-dynasty in Budapest. The 19th-century dessert shop & café offers a wide selection of traditional Hungarian cakes and specialities.

Tour Important Information
Museums are closed on Monday. Please wear comfortable shoes because this is a walking tour and we are also using public transport vehicles during our half-day tour. Public transport tickets are included.
