Delhi Layover Tour Through History and Culture

Your Half-day tour of Delhi begins with the historic portion of the city, Old Delhi. After pickup from your hotel or airport, set off towards the Red Fort, which was built by the Emperor, who built the Taj Mahal. Afterwards, you’ll weave through the bustling Bazaar area of Chandni Chowk by rickshaw/or on foot, later we visit Jama Masjid, a 17th-century mosque that is the largest in India. we also visit the Raj Ghat drive past India Gate, President Palace and Parliament House.

Begin your day by getting picked-up from Delhi Airport at 9 AM or any time flight arrive and make your way to the old Delhi.

Chandni Chowk Old Delhi Market
You’ll weave through the bustling shopping area of Chandni Chowk by rickshaw for a tour of the bustling Chandni Chowk Market. Next, explore the Kinnari Bazaar (wedding market), the textile market, the Nai Sarak book market, and the Khari Baoli-Spice Market.
Jama Masjid
Visit the Jama Masjid, a 17th-century mosque that is the largest in India.
Raj Ghat
Raj Ghat is a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. It’s located not far from the river Yamuna and was originally the name of a historic ghat. There was the ‘Raj Ghat Gate’ of the walled city, opening at Raj Ghat on the Yamuna. Eventually, the memorial area was also called Raj Ghat. It was here where Mahatma Gandhi’s last rites were performed on January 31, 1948, a day after his death.
Foreign dignitaries visiting India pay respect to Gandhi by laying flowers on the platform. A remembrance ceremony is held every Friday at Raj Ghat, along with the prayer sessions held on Gandhi’s birth and death anniversaries.

We drive past the government buildings of New Delhi, including India Gate, the Presidential Residence (Rashtrapati Bhavan) and Parliament House (Sansad Bhawan).

“Did not go with Ketan”
Ketan was not available for our tour so we went with someone he recommended. I was not happy with our tour guide, however Ketan was very helpful in the messages we exchanged. I don't recommend going with someone else if it happens to you.

“Fantastic Guide - abolutely recommed!”
We had a fantastic time with Ketan. He was well prepared, very knowledge as well as flexible to accommodate any of our wishes. He helped us navigate through food challenges, allowing us to taste some amazing food, while also keeping us safe. His English is absolute fluent and he was able to get across nuances that we would have missed otherwise. On the second day he had an unforeseeable personal issue to deal with, where his colleague Mayank helped out and allowed us to continue our tour seamlessly. Also he was very knowledgeable and fluent in English. Thanks for an amazing time, which you have made possible!
