Meeting Point

Your hotel in Rishikesh

- Meeting & Pickup Point – Rishikesh Complimentary pickup is available from all hotels, hostels, homestays, and ashrams within Rishikesh town (up to 5 km radius). This includes areas around Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Tapovan, Swarg Ashram, and nearby locations. Please share your accommodation details in advance so we can arrange smooth pickup before departure. If your stay is outside the 5 km radius, a central meeting point in Rishikesh will be provided.

Panthwari Village

Pantwari Village is the official base village and starting point for the Nag Tibba Trek. Located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, this peaceful Himalayan village marks the beginning of the scenic forest trail leading to the summit.

From Pantwari, the trek gradually ascends through oak and rhododendron forests, open meadows, and traditional mountain landscapes. The village also offers a glimpse into authentic Garhwali rural life before you begin your Himalayan adventure.

All trekking preparations and final briefings are done at Pantwari before starting the hike.

Kathian Base Camp – Nag Tibba

Kathian Base Camp (also spelled Khatian)

Located between Pantwari Village and the summit of Nag Tibba, Kathian is the most popular camping site used by trekkers.

It is:

Surrounded by dense oak & rhododendron forest

A wide open meadow area for tents

The usual overnight camping spot before summit climb

Around 5–6 km from Pantwari

Kathian Base Camp is the primary camping site on the trek to Nag Tibba, located midway between Pantwari Village and the summit. Set in a beautiful forest clearing surrounded by oak and rhododendron trees, it offers a peaceful Himalayan camping experience away from city noise.

This scenic meadow serves as the overnight halt before the early morning summit climb. Trekkers enjoy tent accommodation, freshly prepared meals, and stunning sunset views over the Garhwal Himalayas. On clear nights, the sky is filled with countless stars, making Kathian Base Camp a truly magical Himalayan stay.

Kathian Base Camp Nag Tibba Summit Kathian Pantwari Village

The summit day begins early morning from Kathian Base Camp for a sunrise hike to Nag Tibba (3,022 meters). The 3–4 km ascent takes around 2–3 hours through forest trails and ridge sections, leading to the Nag Devta temple at the top.

After enjoying panoramic Himalayan views of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kedarnath ranges, and the Doon Valley, trekkers descend back to Kathian Base Camp for breakfast and luggage collection.

Post breakfast, the trek continues downhill towards Pantwari Village, marking the completion of the adventure. The total trekking distance for the day is approximately 10–12 km (round trip including descent), offering a perfect mix of challenge and scenic beauty.

Pantwari Village to Rishikesh Drive

After completing the trek, the return drive from Pantwari Village to Rishikesh offers a scenic journey through the Garhwal Himalayas.

Distance: Approx. 90–100 km

Duration: 4–5 hours (depending on road and traffic conditions)

Route: Pantwari – Nainbagh – Chamba – Narendra Nagar – Rishikesh

The drive passes through winding mountain roads, dense forests, and beautiful valley views. On clear days, you can enjoy panoramic Himalayan landscapes along the way.

Drop-off is provided at your hotel or preferred location within Rishikesh town (5 km radius area).

Altitude: Summit at 3,022 meters. Walk at a steady pace and stay hydrated.

Weather: Conditions can change quickly in the Himalayas. Carry warm layers even in summer.

Winter Trek: Snow possible from Dec–Feb; microspikes may be required.

Trekking Distance: Approx. 16 km total (both days combined).

Network Connectivity: Limited or no mobile network beyond Pantwari Village.

Electricity: No charging points at base camp. Carry power bank.

Accommodation: Dome tents on twin/triple sharing basis at Kathian Base Camp.
