On this walking tour, I’ll show you my city: Florence!
As an art historian, I’ll guide you through the great monuments of the Cradle of the Renaissance, from the stunning Duomo square to Piazza della Signoria, which looks like an open-air museum.
As a true Florentine, I’ll take you off the beaten path, showing you hidden corners and local artisan workshops.
Come walk with me and experience Florence through the eyes of an art historian born and raised here!

San Lorenzo square
- In front of the Trattoria San Lorenzo.

The medieval district: my favorite part of Florence, where you can still see medieval towers dating back 800 years.
Signoria square
The heart of political power, home to the Old Palace (Palazzo Vecchio) and countless magnificent sculptures.
Ponte Vecchio
Florence’s most iconic bridge, famous for its goldsmith shops overlooking the Arno River.
Oltrarno district
The Oltrarno district is across Ponte Vecchio and it's known as Florence’s artisan heart, a charming area filled with craft workshops and local stores.
Pitti Square
The last residence of the Medici family, Pitti Palace is the largest palace in Florence, today housing impressive art galleries and overlooking the beautiful Boboli Gardens.

Anything else not mentioned in "included"
- Please wear comfortable shoes. Be aware that this is a walking tour: we’ll be covering around 2 kilometers, with many stops and time spent standing.
- Bring a water bottle and consider sun protection like a hat or sunscreen, especially in warmer months.
- Despite Florence’s cobblestone streets, this is an accessible tour for wheelchair users, and we move at an easy pace. If needed, we can arrange a rental wheelchair or mobility scooter to make the tour more comfortable. I just need to know that in advance.
Ciao everybody!
My name is Veronica and I'm from Florence.
I've been a tour guide since 2008 and the goal of my tours is to offer you not only an artistic and historical overview of Florence, but an immersive visit into the typical aspects of the Italian life and culture.
I used to live and work abroad: first as a student at UEA (University of East Anglia) in Norwich (UK), then as an apprentice in contemporary art galleries in Sevilla (Spain) and finally as a teacher of Italian and History of Art at Marist College in Poughkeepsie (New York). I have also worked as a Tour Leader around the world: USA, Africa, Russia and Europe. In short, I love travelling and whenever possible I leave my hometown to explore different countries and cultures.
I'm an art historian. I love art as I think artworks tell stories and through those stories we can understand history. I'll show you the monuments of Florence not just in terms of style and beauty, but disclosing the social and historical context in which they were conceived and unveil the tales they hide.
As a local, I'll also take you to my favorite destinnations and to some of the artisan workshops who make Florence unique.
Another passion of mine is wine. That's why I've become a certified sommelier. I believe that wine represents a very crucial part of Italian traditions. Behind a glass of wine you can discover history, nature, landscapes and lives of people. If you share my passion, I will be more than happy to arrange for you a wine tasting in Florence!
Recently I've been trained in accessible tourism for visually and mobility impaired people. So, let me know if you have specific needs. We can design together a trip that fits you.
Btw, all my tours are customizable according to your requests and interests.
I hope to see you soon in Florence!
