- Meet at your hotel and drive a few minutes to the famous Nairobi National Park which is unique in that it's one of the few national parks in the world situated within a major city. Despite its proximity to urban life, the park boasts a wide array of wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and rhinos, among others. Visitors can enjoy game drives, guided walks, and even a visit to the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, which is located within the park.
The Giraffe Centre, also known as the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW) Giraffe Centre, is a conservation and education center focused on the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. Visitors to the Giraffe Centre can observe and even feed these graceful creatures from an elevated platform. Additionally, the center offers educational programs about giraffe conservation and the importance of preserving Kenya's wildlife.
Leave the Giraffe center to the Kobe Beads and Curio Shop and enjoy the famous Kenya coffee as you purchase and learn how Beads are made here.
Kobe Beads is a women's self-help group located near giraffe centre and produces handmade ceramic beads and pottery, employing disadvantaged women from the local community. Visitors to Kobe Beads can take guided tours of the workshop to see the artisans at work, learn about the bead-making process, and purchase unique, handcrafted souvenirs directly from the artisans themselves.
